I'm not sure how this question is going to be responded to any different than the last 4 times it was asked in the past week.

No. Not only is he a woman beating scum bag... but he SUCKS! His career was in the tank BEFORE he KO'd his wife.

No, for several reasons. The main one being I don't believe the first and only time he cold-cocked a woman he managed to do it on camera.

Ray Rice? What makes you say that? He has 6,000 career rushing yards in 6 seasons averaging over 4.0 ypc. He has over 3,000 receiving yards.

2013, 15 starts, 214 carries for 660 yards, a 3.1 ypc average and he looked terrible doing it. 58 catches for a whopping 321 yards (5.5 ypcatch - awful).

Now that's just bad for a full season.

Let's compare that to Ellington, who we all will agree is having a terrible season himself.

In 12 starts he has carried 201 times for 660 yards, a 3.3 ypc average, and has caught 46 balls for 395 yards, an 8.6 yards per catch average.

So, to spell a woefully underperforming back with leg injuries, you are in favor of a back who has performed even worse in his most recent season that also comes with the baggage of poster child for NFL domestic violence?

Again, Hell and no.

I am sick and tired of the "Dudley Do right Attitude of this Forum."

Man we will never ever set the opportunity w have now unless we bring in a Player of Rices ability, and I mean RIGHT NOW...!!! The guy made a big mistake, he is now married to the women, who has totally forgiven Ray. Just look at how we have rehabilitated TM. Also just look how we have been screwed by RG the Commish. on DW suspension. Guy's that have done worse things than him have all been reinstated. IE the gut from the Brown's the guy from Denver, the guy from the 49er's. The reason Russ says No because he lives in the Bay Area, right Russ. Sorry if you don't root for the team in the area that you are from I really question your true them loyalty.

Ido care of about his past, only that he keeps himself on the straight and narrow, and can help us get back to winning.

I cannot and will not accept losing any more due to front office mightier than thou attitude. Keep the Old Man out of this, He is what has hurt this team in the past.

We are not done as others have said. BA is no Todd G. of ASU. He plays the best that he has left to play with. Next Man Up.

I want our fans not to be just band wagon types but hard nosed fans who don't ever give up. From what I have been reading we seem to be the later. Now i is up to us as TRUE RED WHITE CARDINAL FAN'S TO STOP WITH THE LOOSER ATTITUDE. Let's get back and encourage our Team to put the last two games behind us and start kicking some ASS.

BOBCAT:mad::bang::mulli:

I agree to a point. I do think he is a scum bag and believe that character should count more in this world. However, I know there will be other marquee franchises that will take that chance on him, so I wouldn't boycott our team if we did. Look at the Patriots (Blount seems to be doing good for them). There are many high profile teams that take chances on these guys. We are always wondering why we never take that next step. Sometimes you have to take those chances to get over the hump. They are already reporting that the Colts and Saints may be interested in Rice this year.

Funny, Jimmy Johnson suggested on the halftime show that BA and the management team seriously discuss the possibility of bringing in Rice, particularly since it looks like Ellington may miss some time with his hip injury, this team has rode him and his wheels are falling off with all the punishment he is taking on a weekly basis. QB play is the big problem here as Stanton is channeling his inner Taylor Kelly and really hurting this team with his horrendous play the last couple of games.

And Jimmy Johnson had a star WR who was a known drug addict and had guys up and down his roster who were borderline criminals. Jimmy was a win at all costs kind of guy.

I guess my point is why do people complain about Ray McDonald and Aldon Smith and all the 49er arrests and then start threads about going after Ray Rice? Where do you draw the line.

We have people constantly ripping on Washington for what he did, I can't believe people think Rice is a viable guy to sign, as Dems said do you really believe that's the first time he's ever done something like that?

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that but as someone posted on this thread last year BAL OL wasn't very good, so you take away his sub par 2013 and he is a Top 5 RB production wise. Again, I'm just saying we need a RB of his caliber to limit the weaknesses of the offense (namely Drew Stanton). If was cut for anything other than domestic violence I'm pretty sure he would have teams lining up for his services.

I understand that there are some terrible human beings in the NFL, players are overpaid men playing a game. Many are egotistical, self entitled jerks who think they are above the law because they can buy their way out of trouble, that's just my personal opinion. But what matters most is superstar players make a big impact in the win/loss column and winning trumps everything. That's why I said Ray Rice will get a second chance next year if not this year, Peterson will rejoin MIN next season, Washington will be a Cardinal next year barring he do something stupid again. College players with baggage are welcomed into the league and paid millions of dollars despite the character issues and red flags generated by their actions.

Rice, Peterson, Smith, Washington are just guys that got caught. I guarantee there are many more woman beaters, dead-beat dads, potheads, and sex offenders in the league, hell sports in general is full of them but ticket sales, merchandise sales, television contracts and other generated revenue will reinforce the status quo.

Reflection of society and society will get tired of this because at the end of the day character does count and no amount of wishing that away will make it untrue.

Once society lives with the consequences of that kind of thinking at all levels long enough then people will again value things like character.

Respectfully, our line isn't very good either. They don't open a lot of good holes. They pass pro a lot better but get no push.

If you are considering ray rice. You might as well resign Dwyer whom we let go for a domestic violence charge. No thanks!

Ray rice is much more talented and proven than Dwyer let's not kid ourselves! The more I have thought about it why the hell not, someone is gonna get a good young back why not us? Someone will give him a chance talented backs don't grow on trees, just like Vick people will forgive and why not. The guy from all accounts besides this one incident has been a model nfl player and good community member. With what we have at QB having more RBs would definitely help just pound rice, bush, Andre all of em over and over, teach this oline how to run!

Screw Ray Rice. I want to win but not by signing that piece of garbage. I would rather wallow in misery. It sends a bad message to people like my daughter who loves to watch Cards games with me. It says...hey...you can beat the crap out of a woman but it's OK because we want to win.

Hurray for Cards not being interested.

It's sports, I'm sorry but if you or anyone looks to them as role models that's your bad judgement! Do you want to win and have a good team, or do you want a good role model team that sucks? Sorry but I choose to have a good team we have had bad ones plenty of times and you still have questionable characters on ANY team! The whole holier than now attitude is a complete joke, most people root for teams and trust me you know very little about the actual people that make them up. If your so against watching thugs then you should not watch ANY professional sports!

It is sports. I played it most of my young adult life and I can tell you that sports has a very pivotal role to play in teaching kids things like teamwork, friendship, and self esteem. Like it or not, sports has a key role in society that has nothing to do with hero worship or being role models.

Also, your thug comment is a riduclous stereotype. There are more good players than bad. As far as I am concerned you can throw out all the players that repeatedly break the law and I wouldn't care one bit. There would be plenty of players left to enjoy sports.

Back to my original point, all sports have a social responsibility. I want my team to reflect the values of society PERIOD. No special treatment. Playing in the NFL isn't a right it's a freaking privilege that he threw out the door as soon as he punched his wife. He would be in jail right now if that was anybody else.

I repeat....SCREW Ray Rice. Thank you Cards for passing.

The hypocrisy in this forum baffles me as well... Darryl Washington BROKE THE COLLAR BONE of "a woman," and where is he??? Still on the roster!!!

Give me a f'n break.

If Ray Rice provides opportunity for this franchise, do it! If we are gonna draw the line on character issues, I would expect Dwash to be shown the door immediately.

That moment of truth has already come and gone though.... BS

Who is being a hypocrite? Who are you referring too? Have you taken a poll of those saying don't go near Ray Rice? Personally I would have no issues with the Cards cutting him either.

Who is a hypocrite? I want DWash gone. For the incident and because he has proven he is not trustworthy. You cannot count on him. He will do something else off-the-field and will be unavailable to the team. Cannot have a guy like that around, IMHO. No character.

He is on the roster because of his contract. We don't run the front office. We don't know their plans once he is off suspension, etc.

I wish these players could have their contracts voided when they break the law and free the team from their contracts.

Regardless, DWash will play somewhere in the league.

Heck, Leonard Little KILLED a woman, missed 8 games, and got a Super Bowl ring with the Rams. Played 11 more seasons in the league - and drove drunk again just 6 years after he killed Susan Gutweiler...

If HE could stay in the league with a slap on the wrist - ANYONE can stay in this league. The dog-killer, another DUI killer like Donte Stallworth, etc. These players do not live in the real world with real world consequences.
