Somers had a pretty nasty take on Twitter about Pugh sticking up for the kicker, and now there's an article up on the Republic about how the team should never have fired Wilks.

Struck me as interesting.

I like Bob Kemp because he is snippy. I remember him roasting all teams in Arizona (College and Pro) When they deserved it. The other local media have been, for the most part, completely in line with the “company line.” However, what Pugh did yesterday was commendable and the firing of Wilks was the right move. It sounds like some folks in the media didn’t like being called out by Pugh…..

Even Wolf came out today and put it on Kyler. That he can’t make that slide and needs to take some kind of accountability.

First time I’d heard that about the golden boy from the mouth of Sauron.

I was traveling and didn’t get to see the game except for the last 3 minutes. Saw the defense step up and keep Eagles to a field goal. I saw “Kyler” miss a wide open Ertz that would have been a 20-25 yard gain and stop the clock by running out of bounds. I have to imagine that would have save some time and moved us closer. Maybe even take a shot at the end zone. But NO, I also got to see “Kyler” sliding short of a first down. For the gamer he claims he is, I’m not sure he will get us a championship.

To be honest, we should have signed a NFL K for Sundays game, not a guy cut by KC after missing a FG and PAT in their only loss of the season.

Not defending Murray because he definitely made mistakes but they spiked the ball because they didn't want to rush an inexperienced K and give him time to set up and get composed. Obviously, it didn't help but the kicker has to make that.

Had we scored TD instead of settling for FG to end the first half it wouldn't have came down to needing a FG to tie the game.

Not counting the butterfly effect, but the Eagles on previous drive would have to score a TD or probably lose the game right there.

It would force us to go for a fg if they did so could end same way, but could get out with a defensive stop.

Small things do add up.

I listen to all 6 or them on their podcasts almost nightly while at work. What kills me is this about Wolf & Luke, they'll crucify KK to a certain extent, then when he comes on the Monday show, they always seem to back off & not ask him the tough questions they questioned earlier in the show. Blows my mind.

I mean Wilks got stuck with Mike McCoy and Bradford/Rosen. Not that the guy was a great coach or anything but Keim Time definitely handcuffed him.

The finger-pointing when the wheels officially come off here in a few weeks is going to be pretty gnarly.

Keim, Kliff, Kyler, and Bidwill will all be leaking like crazy all in save-your-ass mode. Kliff and Keim especially since they're basically unemployable outside the Cardinals organization.

I think the biggest indictment on Wilks tenure was the fact that he didn't take responsibility for the losses.

Over and over he kept saying the plan was good but the players didn't execute. That's poor leadership.

I mean… Kyler’s already there. He was blaming his WRs for his bad game against the Rams. He blamed the coaches for killing the clock on Sunday.

The next time that guy takes any responsibility for anything going wrong for this team will be the first.

The other guys I could care less about. They’re all complete trash at their positions and are known quantities there.

But to see Kyler, a guy with actual potential, be such an atrocious leader makes me think no matter the coach, that potential will never be reached because he believes it already has been.

About time local media decided to do their jobs - the valley is a joke on the national scene, and part of that is the incestuous relationship between reporters/media and the teams.
This x 100000.

Since 98.7 moved into valley they fostered this incestuous relationships with local teams to deflect, fudge and protect the Owners, GMs, Coaches from accountability. Very bad for fans who put their valuable dollars and time in local sports.

The media always gets over protective when someone does something like Pugh did. They act like their jobs are on the line.
