If the Suns wind up with Deng, can we agree to stop talking about what a genius McDonough is?
I can see Deng going to Miami. Not a bad save for Riley.

I dont see the deng hate at all. if the argument is that we already have pj for 5 million, that is fair.
but deng is still a big time defender, and a 17-18 point guy. a lineup of bled, tucker, deng (w/ goran on bench) is an elite perimeter defense.

Yes. This should actually be a topic of conversation already.
The LeBron play was a joke. Did so much more harm than good.
I don't get this at all. Please explain the harm as you see it.

I took Sci Fi's comment to be about the circus a narcissistic LeBron has created for the past four years. 'Not the NBA's proudest moments.I don't get this at all. Please explain the harm as you see it.

ESPN sources say Phoenix has tried to force its way into the Luol Deng bidding tonight. Miami has been pressing all day for deal with Deng
If they decide on Deng I'm hoping it's in $10-11 Mill/year range with as many minutes as he's already played. The Suns would be seriously deep and could deal with a player injured, better than last year.

As someone else posted, it is a reminder of the sorry state of our society -- the Top 10% and everyone else. In LeBron's case, the top player hogging 90% of the publicity.
Maybe the difference is that Chamberlain had Russell. Magic had Bird. LeBron has no one near his status.
But even Michael didn't match LeBron in playing teams against each other. Taking a leave from the NBA to try baseball is hardly the same mentality.
Yeah, first of all I have no problem with the way Lebron James handled this whole thing. I don't care at all that it took him a little while to make his decision. If anybody should be blamed it's the media for all the speculation and us for gobbling it up. I don't think he did it because he wanted all the publicity or any crap like that.
Regardless, whoever that was I was responding to earlier sure sounded like they were saying we, the Phoenix Suns, were hurt because we tried to get into the Lebron James sweepstakes.

Yeah, it was Sci Fi and that's the gist of what he said. I'm not exactly sure why he said it but perhaps it was the same thing Daren G has been saying. Which is, basically, that Lebron turning us down just shows the rest of the league that good free agents will never play for Sarver.

I find that pretty ridiculous as well, so I give up.
Joe
It depends on his contract and other moves. If the Suns were to trade Green, Tucker, and Morris brothers for K-Love after they sign Deng for $8M per year for three years,
It never got to that. According to reports after he announced his decision, he never considered more than two teams, the Heat and the Cavs.Lebron turning us down just shows the rest of the league that good free agents will never play for Sarver.
