If the Suns wind up with Deng, can we agree to stop talking about what a genius McDonough is?

It depends on his contract and other moves. If the Suns were to trade Green, Tucker, and Morris brothers for K-Love after they sign Deng for $8M per year for three years, I'd think it was a damn good signing. If they sign him for $55M over 4 years and no other trades happen, then I'd think it was a bad move.

I think Deng is a very good player, but I just dont see the fit. If we didnt just draft a long wing player AND retain Tucker then this would make sense, but not right now.

Unless we have a trade lined up or his contract is at a very reasonable and short price I dont see this happening.

I dont see the deng hate at all. if the argument is that we already have pj for 5 million, that is fair.

but deng is still a big time defender, and a 17-18 point guy. a lineup of bled, tucker, deng (w/ goran on bench) is an elite perimeter defense.

I can see Deng going to Miami. Not a bad save for Riley.

If Wade and Bosh are both getting paid, I am not sure there is enough money left. Remember, Wade and Bosh were going to take pay cuts to keep al three.

Yes. This should actually be a topic of conversation already.

The LeBron play was a joke. Did so much more harm than good.

So for the 5 minutes this line-up plays they'll be elite.

If they decide on Deng I'm hoping it's in $10-11 Mill/year range with as many minutes as he's already played. The Suns would be seriously deep and could deal with a player injured, better than last year.

Like I've been saying all along, we better hope our Draft picks pan out because that's the only new talent we will see.

I don't get this at all. Please explain the harm as you see it.

I took Sci Fi's comment to be about the circus a narcissistic LeBron has created for the past four years. 'Not the NBA's proudest moments.

As someone else posted, it is a reminder of the sorry state of our society -- the Top 10% and everyone else. In LeBron's case, the top player hogging 90% of the publicity.

Maybe the difference is that Chamberlain had Russell. Magic had Bird. LeBron has no one near his status.

But even Michael didn't match LeBron in playing teams against each other. Taking a leave from the NBA to try baseball is hardly the same mentality.

Yeah, first of all I have no problem with the way Lebron James handled this whole thing. I don't care at all that it took him a little while to make his decision. If anybody should be blamed it's the media for all the speculation and us for gobbling it up. I don't think he did it because he wanted all the publicity or any crap like that.

Regardless, whoever that was I was responding to earlier sure sounded like they were saying we, the Phoenix Suns, were hurt because we tried to get into the Lebron James sweepstakes.

Yeah, it was Sci Fi and that's the gist of what he said. I'm not exactly sure why he said it but perhaps it was the same thing Daren G has been saying. Which is, basically, that Lebron turning us down just shows the rest of the league that good free agents will never play for Sarver.

I find that pretty ridiculous as well, so I give up.

Trying to sign Bledsoe may be an indicator which way the wind is blowing.

There is no way Minny trades Love for this package or Deng signs a contract like this.

It never got to that. According to reports after he announced his decision, he never considered more than two teams, the Heat and the Cavs.

And, as I posted somewhere, once it went public about the Cavs, there was no way he would burn them again. It was a given. The only team he turned down was the Heat.
