Shades of Evan Mathis.

Marcus Gilbert......calling it now, he is done. Never will see the field as a Cardinal.

It's a knee thingy which means I would rather have a guy in there where this OL has a chance for some consistency to get better as a whole

Cardinals sign Right-tackle Jordan Mills. 1 year deal $1.25 million.

Awesome.

I have been a fan of Mills since college.

He is NOT a game changer, but I think he will fit Sean Kugler's philosophy in wanting a physical lineman.

Him and Sweeney on the tight side will not be wanting in effort and nastiness.....just skill might be lacking, lol.

Good signing.

I would suspect the guard, Vinunich will be let go, or Gilbert goes to IR.

Gilbert to IR, per the radio.

The biggest non-surpise of the season.

Should we put Pugh on IR now and get it over with?

It looks like Marcus Gilbert is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet

The #AZCardinals placed OT Marcus Gilbert on Injured Reserve because of a torn ACL, source said. The veteran’s season is over, which explains the signing of a tackle today.

This isn't a coincidence. It's a pattern.

Gilbert counts nearly $5 million against the cap this year, and he will never play a down. Keim shouldn't even be allowed to carry his own money, much less have any influence on how the team spends theirs. He is killing this team with his recklessness.

No more 30+ injury-prone linemen please, hope this is a lesson learned...

i get all teams have injuries

curious how losing two starters to (likely) season long injuries in training camp compares across the league

Kiem doesn't learn lessons, he just makes the same mistakes over and over again

Kingsbury said Marcus Gilbert ACL tear was a non-contact injury. Justin Murray will remain the right tackle starter this week at least. Jordan Mills will be experienced depth.

I wanted Keim gone after the DUI.
I still can't believe a modern NFL franchise that wants to be taken seriously is OK with their top employee being an immature, reckless bozo.
And his recent draft and FA track record is not good. I suppose Kyler panning out would change that narrative a lot but I think that would be fool's gold.
Barring something miraculous happening this year, I'd like to see him hit the road, completely sober hopefully.

So they give up a 6th round pick for someone who won't play a down for them. You should never trade for someone with an extensive injury history. They may come cheap but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

More likely him and his agent muddied the waters and didn't provide the team full details on the injury until his salary became fully guaranteed after week 1.
This doesnt matter. His salary was guaranteed as it was a football injury during practice.
