Listen I have been the first to shoot down Vick coming to AZ last offseason as I just didn't see ANYWAY that it made sense. I am not as up in arms as many are about the dog fighting and feel he served his time, but at the end of the day, at least prior to that arrest, he was a thug and I didn't like him one bit.
So yes, Vick made NO SENSE whatsoever previously with KW manning the ship.
But things have changed now. There is some criteria that go into bringing in a new QB and here is what they are.
A) Legit enough option to keep Matt's fire lit
B) But not so accomplished that it would show Matt the org isn't behind him
C) Reasonable cost
D) Someone with starting experience in case Matt busts
SOOOOO we all know this about out brilliant head coach. He likes to get creative with the offense and have guys on the team you have to game plan for and can give you headaches. We also know he is not opposed to bringing in a two QB rotation as witnessed the first go round with Matt as a starter.
Our locker room is much more vet like at this point and a culture and program has been established. Not to mention a year has gone by so all the media circus and PETA unrest will 10X less dramatic.
From Vick's perspective, the Cardinals position would be enticing because there is no established QB and all the weapons available.
Personally I think Matt playing and bringing in Vick 10 times a game would be pretty awesome. Towards the end of the year you could see he was getting his feet under him and while I was one of those people who thought he wouldn't do anything after being in prison for 2 years, the end of the year showed me he still had some juice.
So as pie in the sky as I thought it was previously, It seems like I just made a pretty good argument of why it might work. Anyone else think this is a TERRIBLE idea? (Besides Nidan of course )
