100% this

He’s soft.

Soft based on what? Just curious.

I think he has a great initial punch and he fights off double teams all game.

I agree that he also is seen on the sidelines but wonder what his snaps per game are vs another DT of his caliber. My understanding is DT rotations are the norm these days.

Well...he is going to run at his pro day...

If he runs a 4.3 like most expect, Murray-mania is going to explode.

That would be great as a RB or a WR or a CB... lol 4.3 as a QB not really a high ticket item for me. And I doubt he runs 4.3 but we shall see.

Well, I'm also a fence sitter on Murray. I go back and forth on him versus Rosen. His pro Day will be interesting and I think will form a lot of conclusions. Even though it's scripted it will give you an idea of his arm strength and also his speed. Additionally, they say he will also go on the scales and be measured again for his height. Maybe we will get off the fence after this.
Listen AZ, the answers you are looking for have already been answered. Watch his games. He’s fast , his arm strength at least adequate. Unfortunately NOTHING will be answered at his pro days as far as facing a force pass rush after taking a snap from center. Throwing to a closely covered receiver against nfl cornerbacks, taking hit after hit from grown ass nfl players. Unfortunately we or the team they drafts him will probably find those answers a bit to late.

Not to mention, dude was the only front 7 player to show up every game. Projected 1st round pick Raekwon Davis was damn near MIA the whole season & Isaiah Buggs was the same after the Iron Bowl(probably due to a injury though)

Again as I stated before, Murray intrigues me and I have found myself on that fence but it never lasts for more than 10 minutes. The hype train reminds me of Tom Sawyer painting that whitewash fence and acting like how good it was and then 'reluctantly' allowing other boys to eventually paint the whole fence for him, for draft picks is what I think Keim is doing :)

I don't really care how fast he runs. When's the last time a 4.3 QB won the SB? SB winning QBs are cut from the same mold as Rosen. Also, KK got the job because he broke down Rosen's tape and said he could win with him, not bc he said he could win with Murray if we take him #1.

so I’m watching all the draft stuff and it’s pretty much Murray would of been considered the 4th best QB in last years draft behind Baker, Darnold and Rosen.

A lot of these “experts” are saying Haskins is the best prospect in this draft but the hype train is behind Murray.

Would anyone on the planet say Murray is a better pro prospect than Tua or Trevor Lawrence? I don’t think so.

So how good is he really. I honestly just don’t see it. No player his size has ever succeeded at QB.

I’d say drive up the price and trade it. Get a 1 next year. Ride with Rosen and if he doesn’t make the step next year go all in on Tua but god not Murray

PFF has Murray as on the same tier as Mayfield. Murray more accurate, Mayfield a better leader

Rosen on the same tier as Haskins well below Darnold

Well first off how many 4.3 qb's have there been 5? How many of them were also accurate passers? Any of them?

Just pointing out that is not a very fair statement.

Now - Russel Wilson has won a superbowl - and I think he may be Murray's best comp.

You do realize college stats wise Murray is easily better than Rosen right? Therefore you know the reason he has a higher grade is just his physical size right?

Personally I prefer a guy's ability to actually successfully play the game over their height and weight.

Give me Russel Wilson over Brock Osweiler or Mike Glennon any day.

Your right size doesn’t matter

Back when Murray was still on a baseball contract the consensus was 2nd round pick, then after he changed his mind and said he would play ball he was being projected to a mid 1st round and perhaps the third QB drafted. Guy gets on a scale and now he's the #1 overall. I can't recall someone moving this far up the draft boards without a snap being played.

Well guys who study tape and analytics for a living disagree

As a Texan who watches football I am not going off of stats but ball placement and Mayfield is deadly accurate putting the ball right on the numbers. Murray gets it there but a little high and usually a tad behind, but I do think he throws the better deep ball. Not saying he does not have accuracy but he's not close to Mayfield in working a larger percentage of the field. Watch the Bama tape or even UT when he is on, his WRs have to make a effort and hardly is it ever in the bread basket. Maybe because he is short he tends to throw high to guys which are taller than him due to a mindset to compensate and a pro coach can find the quick fix, but he's not as accurate... though accurate :)
