Well, I know that. I just wondered if anyone wanted me to rehash it again :)

I absolutely hated that there was this 'big bad' that was stomping through the jungle like a T-Rex, but the director refused to show it. It came across quite poorly to me. People have told me 'but it's explained why the scenes that OBVIOUSLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEEN couldn't be seen', but they only did that much later. Well, if you're going to show a giant monster, show the GD giant monster. Explaining it much later does no good. That's why I didn't like it.

Sorry not following that logic at all. What made it better was the fact that they didn't show it IMO.

I'd say no, there are better options. I thought the show started off great but mostly got by on its promise following the premiere.
Completely disagree. The first 2 seasons are pure brilliance, along with the 2nd half of the 3rd season. 4-6 weren't nearly as good, but still fascinating.

I enjoyed it up until the writer's strike although I don't believe that it ever again approached the level of the premiere episodes. After the writer's strike, it just felt like a different show. Maybe that was me having some time away from the show rather than anything they did but I know I felt like a glutton for punishment staying with it for the final seasons.

This. I probably like everybody else had their problems with some of the stuff towards the end. I was also comparing it to the first few brilliant seasons of the show. Having said that, even the weaker seasons were still better then 90% of what was on TV at the time.

Yeah, that makes no sense. The show is a MYSTERY show and he wants to reveal the mystery right away? LOL

Hey, I didn't want to rehash it, but was asked to. I thought the mystery was extremely poorly set up. It's like having Godzilla destroying Tokyo--but we're not allowed to see it. It's fine if you don't like my opinion, but my opinion absolutely makes sense.

Thanks! I know mine's the minority opinion, but that's okay

I definitely don't agree with it, but it's a bit presumptuous to say it "absolutely makes sense." :)

It's nothing like that Stout. Not even remotely. Godzilla is meant to be the main spectacle or attraction. There is no mystery to solve about him. The smoke monster was one of many mysteries on the island all of which were to be unraveled slowly. That is not even remotely like a Godzilla movie which is why you completely lost me.

It's what you feel though. It's all good.

Problem is, it's some giant monster storming through the jungle shredding people...that the audience doesn't see. All I remember at the time is that the director must be doing a stupid 'nyah nyah, you can't see it' trick with the audience, and I absolutely hate those kinds of moments. Learning that you much later find out why didn't help in that moment for me.

Based on all the rankings of Lost seasons the 4th season is either first or second best along with the 1st season.

It is frustrating when watching movies with supposed monsters and they dont show them until the end.
