Is the next draft any good besides the 1st pick?

The way the new draft odds stack up with 1-3 having the same odds and 4 having slight less... the odds are we won't be getting Zion... looking at the other options there seems to be alot more doubts with "draft experts" at how good they will be... kind of depressing if we end up having to pick a guy 2-4 that has a lot of question marks that high...

Ayton is kind of a conundrum to me.. very high percentage scorer but does not seem to effect the win column for us at all... very little defense I guess and doesn't help the other players be better much.. I think the time of looking for dominant centers has possibly passed as well... you just don't see the best teams utilizing that position as much anymore. I think we most likely should have picked Doncic. He most likely makes his teammates better and has even more room to grow... getting the first pick can be a game changer for a team, unfortunately for us I don't think that will be true. ..

Ayton will be fine when you get a coach who actually wants to use him.

The next draft isn't as good as the last 2

LOL

Did you watch the last 6 games without Ayton?

Ayton is having a HUGE impact. Advanced stats show that.

Ayton is having probably the best rookie season for a big man since Tim Duncan and still we have to read non-sense like this stuff. Amazing.

He's actually having a historic season for a big man and people still cry about him lol. It's amazing.

Factor in he's a big man with no one to really get him the ball and his coach seems like he can't be bothered to use him right

The suns are 11-42 vs being at 18-35 with as many games played last year we've won bout 40% less games than last year even though we were the worst team last year!... Yes I know he is a rookie, but we are arguably the worst team in the league with another player called the future of the NBA Booker.. I've seen many teams with only a couple excellent players who have really good seasons with the rest of the players very subpar.. An Nba team doesn't have as many players as the NFL does.. a couple great players makes a huge difference.. I've never seen a team that had one great player be as bad as we are... Again, I'm not talking about the best team in the league, I know Ayton and Booker are way too young to effect are win loss ratio that much... but I was expecting just not making the playoffs maybe being 9-11 but to be as bad as we are shows me Ayton barely moves the needle with his performance.. I guess without him we go from possibly the worst team in the league to maybe the worst team ever?

I think it may be his position more than anything... the way the game is played now centers don't effect wins and losses as much.. especially centers that don't have great defensive skills..

I think team still has huge roster holes and bad coach. We know players can be great in the league and not impact wins. I mean we have seen guys that look great just be perennial losers in this league.

I am not willing to write off Ayton as one of those players during his Rookie year and with the problems I mention above.

If a few years from now we have a better coach, better roster and the team is still performing that way? OK, then you have to question if Ayton and other players on the team are winners.

Sure as heck not now.

Totally agree... there are a bunch of impatient Chicken Littles out there (only a few here, but go visit other Suns forums). I know growing pains are frustrating, especially because the franchise as a whole has wandered off into the wilderness as a result of bad ownership. But you still have to give the youngsters time to develop before you throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Sorry for all the clichés... :D

I think Zion and Morant are the two players the Suns would like to draft in that order.

Actually I am not sure the Suns even want to draft Morant. I think they want an experienced PG not a rookie.

Honestly if they don't get the 1st pick overall, I expect them to trade the pick.

That obviously means they are confident in signing a PG as a free agent. Dicey considering our track record. They have to consider Morant if he is available and Zion is gone. I won't be upset if they trade the pick, but what will it be like if they don't draft Morant, they trade the pick for a PF and do NOT sign or trade for a PG?? What a monumental blunder that would be.

No more so than the blunder McDonough made this past summer...

I don't see why the Suns couldn't do both unless they want a big name point guard. If the Suns draft #2, I think it would be a mistake to pass on Morant.

If the Suns would be willing to trade even the #2, I don't see who would be a realistic target.

Lillard might be one, but even for him trading #2 would be quite short-sighted, IMO.

Say we do trade for Ball - you still think it makes sense to draft Morant also? I don't know maybe he could be our sixth man initially and see if he outplays Ball. I actually think acquiring Ball makes it more likely we do draft morant the more I think about it.

We can use our free agent money on Randle or Mirotic and our team would be far improved.

Trade with Orlando or another team that needs a Pg. There will be a lot of interest in Ja’ and I’m not sold on him being the answer here (with or w/o Lonzo).

Murray State just lost by 20 to Jacksonville State, and Morant shot 7 for 18 and had 7 turnovers.

What is that supposed to mean exactly? What I'm saying is he is not making a big difference between wins or losses.. Again, I'm not expecting us to be a great team but some improvement... Lets say we had 10 wins last year and only ended up with 3 wins this year.. doesn't that mean we haven't improved much with our additions?.. We do have Booker now as well.. 40% of starters usually makes a difference.. Again not saying top 4 in the playoffs but hopefully better than worst team in the NBA.. actually could this end up being the worst win percentage for any team ever for the Suns? Again if may fans say that Ayton is going to break all these important records his rookie year with Booker (and I think Warren is decent) I would hope we wouldn't end up being possibly the worst team the Suns ever had... We're actually doing 24% worse than last year when we ended up last place.. I find that pretty amazing...

That's still actually a lot better than the Suns are doing as a percentage of wins, we could be historically bad for a Suns team
