Is there an ounce of optimism left in any of you?

This team has taken a solid nose dive recently and is playing like crap, losing to teams they should be dominating and losing to any and all contenders.

So I ask you, is there an ounce of optimism about this current team in you?

I have said it many times, but in sports ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Hell, they could win 15 in a row starting Friday. No one knows, and that is the beauty of sports. I feel this team finds some strain of optimism and goes out and puts forth the effort we expected out of them originally. Sure, I might sound insane right now, but I feel this team could possibly surprise a lot of people. They just have to believe in themselves and start playing as good as we know they can.

I hurt when they lose, but I know its just a bump in the road and I try to quickly drown out that feeling with television.

i still think the suns can get to the POs and make some noise there,
IF,
they manage to trade their lazy superstar for players that play like it's their contract years
and
IF,
the oldies can get their acts together and be more productive
and
IF the suns shooters can find their mark.

the one thing working in the suns favor is that no one in Phoenix is watching them right now (with the Cardinals' run).

I had very little optimism comming into this season. That little bit of remaining optimism was destroyed on Christmas day and confirmed a few days ago.

Sorry, Andrew, NOT A gram left on me.

This group of players r too soft both mentally and physically, usually fade under pressure. And a little bit too selfish, that including Shaq.

Insert a hard-nosed tough defender into starting lineup might change it. But it might be too late.

Let's hope a big trade.

Andrew, I can admire your optimism but not to the extent where you sound like a PR agent for Steve Kerr. There is optimism and then there is blind optimism. It seems like you lean towards the latter.

Maybe you can work with Shaq when he goes into law enforcement. :D

I have no optimism. I hope they surprise me and win but its HIGHLY unlikely! There are way too many good teams in the NBA for them to pull an upset.

LISTEN PEOPLE. As bad as they are currently playing, THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS. Do you seriously think this team will get worse? It is a given they will get something positive going. They are too talented to fade away. I don't care if you call it blind optimism, I just see the possibility of this team succeeding. They can, I didn't say they will, but my opinion is they can.

You're missing the point Andrew- it doesn't matter of they are in the playoffs. They play like crap. There is no way in hell they can win 4 out of 7 against Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, Nuggets, Rockets, etc.

To answer the question though- no, there is no optimism left in me. the only 2 players who are playing really hard are 36 years old each. I really feel sorry that Shaq and Hill have to play for the crappy Suns in the very sunset of their careers.

Who is to say they can't win against those teams? For crying out loud, if they get there, let them play

Look at their record! Watch the games! It's obvious even to the blind. Nobody is saying, "don't let them play" for crying out loud! We are just saying that in reality, there is no chance in hell they can win a playoff series. Watch 5 Laker games, or 5 N.O. games, and then watch 5 Suns games, and it will be painfully obvious that Phoenix is not even in the same class as those teams.

Stop repeating yourself. Everyone knows where you stand. I have a proposal for you. How about we get everyone here to take 10 seconds while reading each new thread to consider what generic comment you would've posted. These assessments would be ostensibly flawless rendering your presence on this board unnecessary. How about it?

it's a GIVEN they will get something positive going? Why is that a given? And they ARE in the playoffs Right now? they're tied with the Mavs for the last spot.

Did I say they were in the same class as those teams? Where did I mention that, in reality the postseason is a whole new season, where anything can happen. How long have you been a sports fan, you should realize nothing is set in stone in sports until the game is played. How do you explain the Warriors over the Mavericks or the Nuggets over the Sonics? Sure it looked like likely sweeps for both favorites, but what happened? My point is, anything can happen. Just because the stats look like something else, doesn't mean the outcome will. Nothing is set in stone in sports, everyone should know that.

You're messing with me right? Please tell me that you read my post and thought, "man this guy is a dick", and decided to post the dumbest thing possible just to see my reaction.
