Could Manning and Ben R both fall out of the top 5 on draft day?

1. SD gets Brunell and keeps Brees...no need for QB
2. OAK snags Fitzgerald like most predict
3. AZ claims they likely won't draft a QB day 1
4. NYG really needs OT help (Gallery) but could be the first to consider drafting Collins replacement
5. Washington is in Brunell sweepstakes too...if they get him maybe they pass.

While I think either SD, NYG or WAS will end up grabbing one of them, it is possible they would all pass which would mean CLE would get it's pick at #7 or #8 depending on coin flip.

Brunell has stated that he isn't interested in playing for the Chargers. He'll end up in Washington, Dallas or Miami.

There's an outside possibility, but it's more likely that (a) a team not in need of a QB would trade down to a team who desperately desires one or (b) the Cardinals (who might rate Fitz and Taylor ahead of the QB's) might then draft rate Roeth or Manning ahead of Roy Williams or another receiver and either draft one or trade down.

While we're at it, let's try to scope out Denny's "8 Blue Chippers" (My guess with possibly Reggie Williams of Wash in consideration)

1. Taylor
2. Fitzgerald
3. Roethlisberger
4. Manning
5. Roy Williams
6. Harris
7. Andrews
8. Winslow

Replace Andrews with Gallery and I could see those as Denny's top 8. Andrews isn't as polished as Gallery, has Green said anything about him that he's impressed with?

1. Manning
2. Taylor
3. Fitz
4. Roeth
5. Williams
6. Harris
7. Gallery
8. Winslow

As far as both QBs falling out of the top 5, I would doubt that with a 99% benchmark, so many teams are enamoured with Eli Manning to let him slide that far, I could see Big Ben falling to Cleveland though. Combine and workouts are yet to come though, injuries can happen who knows.

No Jackson.... Talk about pre-draft posturing!
That Green's a diabolical genius.

So what are you trying to say? That we shouldn't fall for smokescreens?

Is this possible? No. Denny Green said chances were "slim" we'd take a quarterback in the first three rounds. I think that should be translated as "If Eli is gone at #3 I'm not settling for another QB". No way he slips out of the top 4.
