Chiefs | Minnis Released - from www.KFFL.com
Sun, 31 Aug 2003 19:39:06 -0700

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the release of WR Marvin Minnis.

wheres alphaman when you need him.. sounds like the chiefs should have made this trade! minnis would have probably been like walker - not making the final roster.

another guy the chiefs released..I did not know if he was still in the league - we cut him in training camp after he left the saints.

Hey, if he's somebody else's retread or loser, he's better than anybody we currently have or have had, since the beginnings of the NFL.

Yeah, I think the Chiefs were only talking pick for TJ. Alphaman was the one who was pushing for a swap of TJ for Minnis.

As for Minnis...no thanks. He is not better than what we have at WR.

I was not in favor of minnis..more giving alphaman grief! I wanted to trade jones to the texans for a cornerback.

the bottom of my post did not make much sense - I forgot to put in that jarid tomich was released..we had him for about 2 weeks after he left the saints..

I would argue that their is probably a better corner (a guy who has been cut) out there than eason...but in reality the 5th corner would rarely see the field anyway - we use a safety for our nickel back (lucas) - so I am not sure it really matters... I do not think a defensive tackle is out there (cut player) who is better than what we have (although bell is out - assume king can slide down)...

Well, it's your site, Skkorp, so I guess you're allowed to take as many cheap shots as you want.

The problem is, many of us so-called 'sign anyone' people are NOT 'sign anyone' people.

I personally believed Chidi Ahonatu was an upgrade. You didn't. But that makes your position right and mine nonsensical.

I personally believed Emmanual, McNeil and/or Molden would be better than Eason (still probably only a practice-squad talent). You didn't. That must mean my, and others', opinions are stupid.

There are some people on here that want to just sign anyone. There are many more that want to sign who they see as upgrades. Of course, we aren't allowed to think THAT, because we get derided, laughed at, and lumped in with everyone else.

Way to foster a healthy debate environment!

His other suggestion was Sylvester Morris, who is on IR. Guess neither one is much better than Walker though.

Considering the Cards are 173 games under .500 lifetime I'd consider that a valid statement. Until this year.

Skkorp everytime someone is released you post the same message. I believe other fans not in arizona would call emmitt and blake retreads and losers but of course they are wrong and you are right. Once again nobody said they wanted snoop but skkorp breaks out wit the retread post. Why dont you wait til someone actually says they want him.

Whats so high and mighty about it? Hes right. Everytime someone thinks a player might be an upgrade, skkorp breaks out his signature sarcastic post, people laugh and dont even care about others opinions.

You know what since Hodgins was cut he must be a retread and loser. That would be a true statement according to some peoples way of thinking.

Blake must be a retread and loser because this is his 4th team in 5 years.

I just don`t care for the "i know all" attitude shown by several posters.there is no reason to talk down to people on this board.I guess we will agree to disagree. As for posting sarcastic comments i think we all have at one time or another.I think Skkorp was referring to people that want to sign any player with a "name" whether or not they can fit or help.

See, it's okay for Skkorp and others to be 'high and mighty' and insult others, but it's not okay for me to be 'high and mighty' and call people on it? Cha, right.

These people don't exist. In none of the discussions about released players has anyone suggested such a thing. It's all been speculation about who might help, who wouldn't.

Okay, now who's being an ass (and yes, I DO take that as an insult). I find it highly ironic that you tell me to lighten up, that his post wasn't an insult, then you feel free to insult me yourself. What was that about the pot and kettle, hypocrite?

Skkorp said, and I quote:

Ah yes, sarcasm at its best (or worst). This quite clearly implies that people clamoring for us signing other teams' cuts are simply trying to sign everyone and anyone. That we're just being sheep and calling for us to sign someone.

Now, you wouldn't see that as insulting, if someone said that about a belief or opinion of yours? Guess you're one of those guys that just chuckle and smile when people insult you, then. Whatever. You don't tell me what to post, and I'll not rip you when you post. How about that?

Stout v. Skkorp

...perhaps I am in the minority, but I totally agree with Stout. The sarcasm by Skkorp was nor appreciated. While I did not post it here, I immediately wrote to my friend Tucc (who posts at the Cards Geocities Fan Site - Russ Smith knows the one), that the Cards should sign "E-Mac" when the Panthers cut him. He had a few fine seasons with the Giants and clearly can help us at CB. The Panthers have an excellent defense, and their "retread" is clearly an upgrade for the Cards.

Say NO to Minnis...he is no better than what we already have on the roster. If we do sign Martay, McAddley should go - not Kasper.

What happend to Minnis anyways? His first year in the league watching him play I figured he was gonna be a damn fine reciever. He cought 33 balls for about 530 yards and a TD, which are decent stats for a 1st year guy playing the #3 WR position. Then he had a foot injury the second year, has his foot not healed, or is there something else we dont know about (attitude issues?)?

No i dont just chuckle and smile when insulted. But i don`t get bent out shape over every little thing i don`t agree with.As for yor posts i enjoy reading most of them and appreciate the opinions of people who have seen the players in college. In this case i felt you came down a little heavy.

I'll quit beating this horse when and if he finally dies. The sarcasm was too heavy and I apologize but my opinion remains the same.

Skkorp, I as well apologize for any heavy-handedness in my post. And, I will retain my opinions on those particular players. We'll agree to disagree.
