Here's my thing. Find similar pics of other NFL wrs' and you won't see their hands and arms that far apart like a 4 year old playing catch with their dad. I get that he's got a defender there but in the replay last night he's watchig the ball the whole way so he CAN see it until a certain point. So why are his hands like that? Because he's a body catcher not a hands catcher.

But I do agree with the others if he'd just moved towards the ball it would have been PI, if nothing even there it looks close to faceguarding but because Andy was backing up instead of going to the ball, no call

If Kyler had a clean pocket and that's the first option yeah throw is late, neither of those were true IMO
Agreed. It was such an awkward looking attempt to catch a ball just dropping down on him. I even thought that in real time. He’s just an awful catcher. And it makes him not ready for the nfl. His speed is meaningless if it cannot be deployed effectively.

yep 4-5 games ago I was arguing to play Fitz less to get Andy on the field more because we need the speed to stretch the field. i see now why they don't do that, because his speed only works after the catch.

Trying to find a replay of that catch I found ESPN footage of Andy pre draft and you can see in that how awkward he is going after the ball. Even in the Georgia game, which I think is why he got picked so high, he gets behind the defense easily, they are not expecting a kid this fast at UMASS, but he still looked totally awkward catching the ball and running it in. He scored, but it looked really odd.

Totally wrong play-call... In that situation you run a play that has been proven to produce yards, if not a first down. It was stupid to risk throwing into double-coverage to a midget... and then leaving Kyler in a do or die situation with a 4th & 10... Stupid...

Probably should have called a flag, but man if he doesnt fade away the defender its an easy call.

Right there, when the ball gets to his arms, the CB pokes at Andy's face mask, moving his head back a little to effect the catch. The ball wasn't even touched by the defender but I think that hand to the face mask was enough to effect the catch. I'd consider that a PI. Couldn't it have been challenged/reviewed or under 2 mins, nothing can be challenged?

In the end, it should have been caught.

Pi is no longer reviewable. Andy needs to go after the ball like a savage. Not the weak sauce he put up. Go up strong into the defender instead of trying to avoid contact and he gets the call, hell he might even catch it.

exactly. he's waiting for the ball to come to him... with two defenders on him.

I’m glad someone else saw that. I tried to do a screenshot but that is above my pay grade. It is obvious PI. Stevie Wonder could see that.

Loot at Gator’s screenshot. His hands are up going for the ball. He has a hand in his face. He can’t even see the ball. Watch it again and pause it. How did everyone else miss this? I saw it the first time. Jeez, all the AI haters see what they want to see. Seriously, look at it again, you’ll see.

But it still got to him and since he's so uncoordinated, it made the catch look a lot more difficult than it was... most NFL WRs would have said "thank you very much" and would have caught that lol

That hand did not stay there. Judging a singular screen shot does not tell the whole tale of the tape and he sure felt the ball when it got there ... the kid cannot catch with his hands

Like I said, I saw it as it happened. Did not see the screenshot until today. Go back and watch it. Not defending anyone, just telling what I saw.

I don't see how debating whether Isabella or Murray should've been better on that play clarifies anything. They didn't quite pull it off. Reverse the jerseys and we would all be talking about a great play by our db.

It's really no longer about who Keim DIDN'T take at that spot, it's really about a player who was drafted too high, period. Isabella just doesn't have the skill to be a WR on the NFL level IMO. Can he develop into one? I don't know.

The sad part is that Keim whiffed badly on the WRs he picked, not just Isabella (but Isabella was the worse HUGE risk IMO). I can't figure if it's a scouting issue, a Keim issue, a coaches' input issue...probably a combination of all of them.

But, all the bitching and moaning aside, we have DHop, Kirk and Larry, so who cares? Let Andy be the little decoy duck waddling very quickly downfield, just don't throw to him on a crucial play.

Yep, it comes down to the skillset to be drafted in the 2nd around simply wasnt there.

Had Isabella caught the ball, the trajectory of his career could have been different.
