Have you ever played football at a high school or college level?
Have you ever led large teams in a professional setting? Be honest.
Is this truly your rebuttal?

Anyways, I’ll abide.

I’ve played sport football, basketball, and baseball a majority of my life. I stuck with football in high school.

I have seen first hand what a good QB can do for a team. During my SR year of high school, we underwent a QB change because the first QB couldn’t get it done. And to be frank, the first QB was more extrovert while the second QB was more of an introvert. However, the second QB was actually good at his job and we all were able to follow because we knew what to expect and we believed in him.

That goes for any professional setting. You must be good at your own job before others can follow you. You must produce at a high level. That comes first before anything. Not the FNL fluff you’re talking about.

EDIT: You lost so much credibility when you included Jameis in that list.

I’ve never stated Kyler is “terrible.” Hell, the dude got a second contract and got seriously PAID. How “terrible” can he be?

In my opinion, given his draft status and his second contract, he clearly isn’t terrible. So why then isn’t he more consistently good? Why can’t he lead his team to more success? And please don’t hit me with the reruns of excuses many others here always trot out to explain away Kyler’s failures…
Kyler is a mediocre QB and makes too many mistakes. That answers all of these questions you have asked.

I probably dislike Kyler more than you to do be honest. However, it’s because of his on-field play.

I’ve offered several rebuttals.

And are you now saying Kyler isn’t “good?”

…….

…….I literally said that many times already. I even said it on a post you quoted me last page.
I read where you said he wasn’t playing “good football.” I do see in your last post that you are referring to him as “mediocre.”

Can’t be a much worse situation than to have a mediocre QB with zero leadership ability.

We just wanted Kyler to be a consistently good Quarterback first and foremost. He clearly is not.
Literally on the last page near the top.

Kylers panic and his reluctance to take a hit for a completion will be his downfall. He needs a defense that can cover for his inevitable bone head plays, and an OC that will move him around to get him clean passing lanes.

Harry's OP here is one of the best on K1 that I've seen. Not black or white, just straightforward truth.

It seems to me that this coaching staff is doing about the same thing that a previous coach on here did and got blamed for. It's the system. Play to the strengths of your players, not the other way around?

Clearly Murray is what he is. He is a middle of the pack QB who is capable of really good games and drives offset by bad games and bad drives. ESPN has him #6 in QBR, but no one thinks he is the 6th best QB in the league. Believe it or not, he actually has a better passer rating than Patrick Mahomes but no one thinks he is a better passer than Mahomes.

Here is what will happen with Kyler Murray on 2025 .... Nothing. The franchise will try to build a top defense and get a fast WR and say the plan is working, progress was made. In the meantime, we will pick up either a vet or draft someone hoping we can find a decent replacement for him for 2026 if 2025 is a bomb.

That's why for next season, I think it doesn't start with Murray. It starts with defense.

The $40 mil cap space came from overthecap.com
As to not using it in previous years, I think Ossenfort didn’t spend it as a new GM he wanted to assess the impact of what he spent. I say more in a couple of days when I post on Ossenfort.

You lead by playing good football. You motivate your teammates by playing good football. Kyler has not been playing good football. That’s really it.

If Kyler played like a Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson on the field, none of the other stuff wouldn’t matter. I’m positive of that.
So true
