No. We won't get fair value and Fitz will be elite for the remainder of his contract. Dude is a fitness freak.

Sure I'll be stoned for this, but I'm so sick of hearing people say how Fitz deserves better. This organization has given him the biggest contract for a WR in NFL history, he played in a Super Bowl, he had a Hall of Fame quarterback, he's played on two division winners, and he's played in 6 playoff games. This all with 6-8 years left in his career.

Larry's had some pretty low moments of his career, but his highs have been higher than 99% of people who have played in the NFL.

Tony Gonzales just won the first playoff game of his career and he is hands down the best TE of all time.

Also, even if we traded Fitz, I doubt we would get much in return. That's a lot of money to take on.

I was stoned reading it if that counts

It is the right thing to do and it is not fair to Fitz to make him waste his remaining prime years waiting 3 to 4 seasons for the team to be competitive again. It may be best to sell high and be fair to Fitz at the same time.

I really hate to write this, but it is time.:bang:

The "right thing to do"? What the hell does that mean? The "right thing to do" was to give him that contract so he'd be happy to stay. The "right thing" has nothing to do with pro-sports as a buisness. Fitz is not going anywhere unless we get 3 1st round picks for him, and since that's not going to happen any such talk is a waste of time.

So who or what is going to throw the ball to him to make him that great receiver?

Trade away the best player the Cardinals ever had? Sounds like a great idea!

no way. Your logic is sound. But from a strictly business standpoint, there's no way. Fitz leaving will cost the team millions in tickets/merchandise alone. I don't see it ever happening

For a rebuilding team, the "right" thing to do is acquire more picks. Fitz is way more valuable than Harvin and should be worth at least an additional first round pick. Larry is all world in every phase of the game and off the field...It's fair to Fitz because it gives him a chance to win and play with a real QB. What good is a bently if its driven by a blind man with one arm and no sense of direction?

But, for a "retooling" team, which is the term used by the FO, it's not a good idea to rid yourself of someone who is part of the solution, not problem. (IMO)

A new team could always re-structure it.

What if Minny offered their two #1 picks this year and a #1 next year? The Cards would have to consider that. They could add Jarvis Jones at 7, Geno Smith at 23, where he should be drafted anyway, and possibly a Johnathon Cooper, Eddie Lacy, or whoever at 25 while having two number picks in a much better draft next year. In fact, I do that trade if I'm the Cards.

I do not want Fitz traded but it seems like we are rebuilding and if Minny offers this trade or somethimg similar the Cards have to consider it.

Since AW can no longer play OLB, look for more: 1)trade Fitz 2) Levi to OG, 3) Sherman to RB, and 4) PP to play more on offense.

Let's trade Patrick Peterson and a second to Philly for Nick Foles. ;)

Detroit should trade Johnson cuz they are I rebuild mode.

We don't have a QB Detroit does.

I posted a similar thing during the season, we're likely not going to solve our problems in FA and the draft, so we ought to at least LOOK at what Fitz would bring in a trade. If it's not good don't move him, but having a highly paid WR on a team with a weak OL and no QB doesn't make a lot of sense.

He's a great guy but we saw all last year how forcing the ball in to a high paid Wr can actually hurt the team(pick after pick). when you pay a guy that much money it's human nature to design an offense to get him the ball, and when teams take that away, bad QB's just throw it anyways.

If we have a QB by all means keep Fitz, if we don't, at least consider what you might get for him.

Larry is getting WAY overpaid imo. He is not the one who deserves more. THE FANS DESERVE MORE.

Agree 100%. Fitz deserved better and face it, right now he is a luxury this team can't adford. I'm not buying the bs about his contract #s make him un-tradable. He's one of the best WRs in his prime. Someone will trade for him. A team like Washington, NYG, PIT OR NE would love to have him.

The Skins are in cap ----. The Steelers cant afford Wallace much less Fitz.

Bill Bellicheat was quoted as saying " I would never pay a corner $ 14 million

a year no matter how good he is" So u think he would pay a wide receiver that?

I read somewhere the Cards would have a $15 million dollar cap hit if they

traded Fitz.

But Fitz is 30 years old Harvin is 24. I bet the Vikings would give us one of

those first rounders for Fitz if the contract wasnt an issue.

Can't trade Fitz at this point in his contract.

FWIW I love the guy but don't think he (or any WR) is worth that large a % of the cap.

FWIW: Fitz Sr. tweeted on that topic today. I assume Vikings fans are bringing it up. He said it's "not happening" that the Cards "like him for some reason. 15 m cap hit too".

That was Kent Somers. Fitz Sr. retweeted it.
