I mean, it's just one game that's true. You don't want push the panic button yet.

But damn, they beat the crap out us. And what do you think the Rams are going to do to us next week?

lol...this is a 3-4 win MAX team with this schedule.
Oh but we don’t know how good other teams are yet based off last year because others here said so

Hey it’s looks like Rodgers is out for the year for the Pack. Ugh for them

I didn't realize what a bad combination Bradford and McCoy would make. It makes sense though. Mr. Checkdown meet Mrs. Checkdown. It's like two introverts getting married. Who's ever going to make the first move?

There are more holes in this team than swiss cheese.
Bradford is Capt. Checkdown. No wonder his completion pct. is so high.
No real threats in the wr corps. Williams in his second year running the wrong pattern. Sheesh!
Retread OC that has been fired 3 or 4 times already. His blueprint is well known around the league. It looked like the Redskins were in our huddle.
No LB's what so ever.
Draft choices nowhere to be found.

I predicted 6 wins. I want to officially change that to 2 wins.

Worst part is I live in Chicago. We are where the Bears were 3 years ago. Ryan Pace took over a complete mess. The one thing he had was conviction. He knew the roster needed a complete overhaul. He moved up one spot to draft Trubisky and was ridiculed. While going through the losing he put together the teams lines. His cap space grew. I believe the Bears were the first team to sign their head coach. Matt Nagy. A disciple of Andy Reid with a very good offensive mind all the while retaining Vic Fangio as the DC. Conviction. He signed wr Robinson, Gabriel, and TE Burton who all contributed in the very first drive of their season. Then traded picks to get Khalil Mack....who just sacked and stripped Kizer and recovered the fumble. Conviction. (EDIT...add a pick 6 to that).

Keim is and remains delusional. Spending $15 mil on Bradford and $5 mil more on Glennon. Think that money could have been spent more wisely? We could have signed a couple of QUALITY o-linemen with that money. Could of had Tyrod Taylor who I wouldn't look at as a savior but being mobile would have helped. Hell the shape of this roster we could have Fitzpatrick and heavens forbid....even Stanton. I say that because this team is nowhere near ready to win.
We sat back and watched the premier OC's get hired around the league while we were the last team to sign our HC except for the Colts who were jilted by McDaniels.

I am the eternal optimist. Been a fan for over 50 years. Every year when I was younger I believed the pundits were wrong about the Cardinals. Very few years their predictions of mediocrity were wrong. That was way before the NFL ticket. Well now seeing is believing. The pundits do not think we are very good.

I don't have to worry what they think. Seeing is believing.

The contrast so far between the Cardinals and the Bears is stark. As a former Chicagoan, it was hard for me to switch loyalties to the Cardinals some years ago. Maybe I made a mistake? Not ready to concede that but the biggest Cardinal on the spot now is Keim.

My question was directed at Finito...but in lieu of his answer.... Who are the two teams you have us winning against?

I'll wait anxiously for the 5-8 teams he has us beating. :p
Just a guess. Any given Sunday...

Please count the check downs in this game.

Thanks for posting. This gives me some hope. That was like 10 passes with zero check downs. Willing to blame McCoy for now.Yesterday was just disgusting on every level. Can handle losing, but not non-competitive play.

You do realize he’s always down low in the rankings on yards per attempt right? What’s that tell ya? Especially given his completion %. Gimmie a break with that clip it’s 10 passes out of 30+. I’ve seen plenty of Bradford games & seen him throwing short over & over.

We are who we are. A team fighting Buffalo for first pick in the 2019 draft.

I'll keep printing it until it sinks in.

I had been duped by the preseason play also. Last few preseasons they looked like they hadn't stepped foot on the field since the end of the last year. This year the team looked much more prepared during the preseason. Our offense was looking decent and seemed like we had a couple reliable receiving options other than Fitz. DJ was looking great in limited reps. The defense to me didn't look like it had improved, but also didn't look like it took a major step back, which means it should have been serviceable since we've had a solid D most recent years. Special teams for once in a long time looked good.

Then week 1 comes along and look like we're destine to become the next Browns. My only hope is this is a week 1 aberration, but everything looked so bad it's hard to believe that will be the case. If we see more of the same in week 2 then I'll be pretty sure of how the season will play out.

Think of all the apologists in 2016 and 2017 saying "it's just thee games", then "it's just four games", etc, etc, then "if they just win out from here"... this while the writing was on the wall from the start of those seasons. Even though we were 500 last year it didn't feel like it. When we won it was often by the skin of our teeth, and when we last we got stomped. We are on track to continue that trend now, and all I can do is hope they reverse it next week. I don't care if the if we win one of the next two, if the play isn't night and day better by week 3 this season is TOAST!

I didn't like the McCoy hire when we got him but I thought I would give him a chance. I think he'll be the first to go on this staff.

Maybe the only replacement, if it happens, will be a leftover from a grab bag. I don't think a rookie HC will start firing his fledgling staff hand picked choices. Maybe after the season.... .

Our problem is we have a GM who brings a water pistol to a gun fight and he believes hey I do have a gun.

No prediction for Sunday.

Needed:

1. Finish tackles (do-able)

2. Catch more passes (Iffy)

3. Better separation by receivers (Iffy)

4. More zip on throws (Iffy)

5. More imaginative/aggressive play calling (do-able)

Cardinal future will hinge on what weaknesses are correctable and which are ingrained - & whether the coaches and players get their act together

Yup. You’re right, but once we struck out on Shurmur, we should’ve went after Flip. I didn’t like the Wilks hire because I hate pairing DCs with young QBs.

This is so patently false, that I don't even think you thought this comment through.

Wilson, Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning. There are many quarterbacks who started their careers Defensive head coaches.

I don't blame McCoy. We all know QB's have 3 options on pass plays - long/med/short. Sammy Checkdown obviously had no timing with his receivers, and none could get open so he felt compelled to dump it to DJ31.

Coaches decided to protect him during pre-season so he's got a lot of rust to shake off.

I disagree completely with none could get open. I witnessed time and again especially in Q3 and Q4 Chad Williams running free over the top with Larry sitting down. Not sure how Bradford didn’t see him. Or maybe he did and decided to throw underneath to covered guys anyway.

If this is true, and the coaches see what you saw, perhaps we will see Rosen very soon. Darnold doing well last night only helps that cause....
