I disagree completely with none could get open. I witnessed time and again especially in Q3 and Q4 Chad Williams running free over the top with Larry sitting down. Not sure how Bradford didn’t see him. Or maybe he did and decided to throw underneath to covered guys anyway.

Not disagreeing with you but could you see the pass rush from your vantage point? If so did he have time to go to them, or was time running out? I would guess that it is 50/50 on those. The man did not earn the moniker of Charlie check down for nothing. I would rather my QB throw an occasional pick vs check it down to where it's three and out every time you have the ball.

It's SAMMY CHECKDOWN! Get it right :p

Granted, from where I was sitting I couldn't see ALL the receivers ALL the time. If they were that open, why did he keep dumping it off to DJ31? Nervous of the defense? No confidence in his O-line? Either way, I hope to see JR3 by week 4.

Someone needs to explain this to me because I don't get it. If you are behind by 21 entering the second half and you need to score points, why would your one and only WR who can stretch the field not be part of your game plan?

Bradford’s first pass of the second half was down the field, a gain of 27 to Larry Fitzgerald. By then, the Cardinals already trailed, 21-0. Wilks said one of the reasons deep threat J.J. Nelson only played one offensive snap (it came in the first half) was because the big deficit changed the offensive plan and Nelson’s place in it.

You know it's sad commentary when two of your most positive players in a game are your punter and the backup RB.

this was easily the biggest head-scratcher statement post game. The deep threat was benched when you needed to throw downfield the most? Oy.

I'm in wait and see mode, for now, Sam Checkdown ... should not start on our team, maybe the Bills give us something for him ...

That’s what I pointed out when I heard it. All his plays were off the table when we fell behind. The lone speed guy on the team, the only one capable of flipping the field in a flash, doesn’t have any plays when we are down big???

Couple that with the comment that we started moving from running to passing plays when we went down 7-0 . . . huh? That’s only SEVEN FRIGGIN’ POINTS!?! In the FIRST HALF!?! You don’t have to abandon the run at that juncture. Wtf?!?

not to wish injury on anyone, but it would be great if a contending team's QB goes down and we can be the last team to snooker some idiot into trading a 3rd or 4th rounder for the richest/underachieving QB of all time.

Bradford could spin it pretty good two seasons ago with the Vikings when he played a full season but that was two years and two injuries ago. He looks shot mentally IMO, and at that point it doesn’t matter if he’s healthy. I just don’t see the point of playing him post week-2.

I didn't like the McCoy hire when we got him but I thought I would give him a chance. I think he'll be the first to go on this staff.
I didn't like the hire from the start. He got run out of town for the last 2 teams he coached and we took him in with open arms? Threw up a red flag for me.

my biggest fear with Rosen is that he's going to face an OC merry-go-round. McCoy sucks and to be honest, I don't want him teaching Rosen jack squat, so if McCoy is the first to go, WilKeim better get that coaching spot right next time.

It has to make you wonder what the hell McCoy is doing. This causes some serious concerns for me from the offensive standpoint. I'm not anywhere near being a qualified NFL OC but even I know you don't abandon the run down 7-0 and your speedy deep threat needs to be on the field when you're down 21-0 in the second half even if it's just to force the defense to account for him.

I don't know it they go into prevent mode (deep zone coverage) he has no place on the field. I mean he cant catch the intermediate route.

My thought was having the Hobbit out there as a deep threat could open things up for other WRs running intermediate routes. Having JJ run a few deep routes even with a prevent forces the defense to account for him tying up a CB and maybe a safety.

The very first play, on offense, was telling as to what was to come. Both my son and I said ,PLAY ACTION PASS, but we both knew it was going to be a DJ run.

The mere definition of zone means they're playing an area not a man. So nobody will account for him.

If he runs a fly it still forces at least a safety to account to account for him, thereby stretching the zone and opening up underneath. There’s virtually no excuse for not using the only the guy who can change the field in an instant when you need to score quickly.

I just remembered how the offense was driving me nuts with the snap count. The same thing they did last year that Mitch would always complain about. On obvious passing downs, letting the clock run all the way down, allowing the defense to tee off at 1 sec.

I was just listening to the Rams guy (D'Marco Farr) on yesterday's Doug and Wolf. Doug asked him about what he sees as Rams weakness. He said the Raiders were able to change tempo and catch the Rams off guard with quick counts, as they were trying to adjust to personnel. Will the Cardinals try that?

The QB had a lot to do before the snap .It takes time to look over the defense, get your protection set, and opt for what appears to be the weakness in that d.

Not until the ball is thrown . It may make a safety drop a bit deeper but Imo that's not going to help you much. I have no problem with taking him out. Dude can't catch.
