We all live our lives as cards fans to some extent waiting for the other shoe to drop, sometimes we have a shoe drought and then sometimes games like this rain shoes.

We have a two headed QB monster so what happens?

In the span of one playing game both are done for lengthy times.

Our best WR is wrestling instead of playing.

Our best defensive player is a flag magnet.

We lose to a guy who was watching TV last weekend not playing.

I've never in my life seen anything like this team, it's like gates of bad luck hell opened up wide on us just at the most optimistic of times.

I know now why the secret seems to work, because the Cardinals are where all the negative luck sits.

I mean two calls upheld by Carolina, none for us, phantom penalties and a immaculate interception all in one game.

I'm not blaming any one event for our loss but the good ship luck sucker is parked over our heads, it's not even of this world, it's an alien presence, it's completely non-human and it's frankly scary to be associated with anything this cursed.

All teams have runs of bad luck, but good lord this is insane.

Now I get to watch a rusty Tim Rattay QB my team..... lmao, this is funny when you think about it.

Sad, ridiculous times. At least you can see things for what they are my friend. Something HAS to change to make this a legitimate football club. I was on cloud nine up until 2:35 (or so) Mountain Time. Now I am perusing college teams for a savior. The koolaid is sour.

WOW! You have summarized it very well.

For me today was a nightmare. Can't feel anything but bad about it and it just doesn't stop..............

Just got back from the game - and while I certainly would not attempt to counter anything you said above Conrad, the one glaring concern I felt when walking out of the stadium today was that I saw our team, at home and with the lead, essentially not play to win in the 2nd half. IMO, Carolina wanted it more. They played like they wanted it more. We had a ton of really STUPID penalities. We had some STUPID turnovers. And then, on a huge play to Smith, the CB playing the best this year (Hood) and our single best player on defense (Wilson) literally gave up... Couldn't believe what I saw...

Thats what bad teams do. We should have blitzed more today. No question in my mind about that.

And on bad luck? I can't believe I'm about to type this but:

The book is not closed on this season yet.

We may be 3-4 going into the bye, but I still think we have a chance.

Agreed that everything that could go wrong today went wrong though. Except that CAR missed one field goal.

One consistant thing. This always occurs between week 1 and week 6. We are usually eliminated by week 7 one way or the other.

.

The phantom penalties against the Cards and on the reverse that Carolina ran there were two obvious shoves from behind against Cards players as the second ball carrier came back around with no flags thrown at all. The blocks were as blatant as the one Rolle did on the punt return but only Rolle got flagged.
There are many times I have thought ref's just assumed the worst because of prior histor and so called penalties on the Cards. But after all the non-calls vs. calls, phantom calls, and the way the upheld a close call on Fitz's fumble and overturned Foster's fumble... Today's officiating crew needs to have their bank accounts checked to see if there are sudden large cash deposits after this game.

The other teams are sucking too. So until we really are eliminated, we are not and I don't care what all these experts say. They don't play the game.

the sad thing is, that in any other year for any other team the two quarterback system would have been a disaster,
but for this team and this system and with the personnel we had, running it was a stroke of genius that i believe would have carried us deep into the playoffs,

in another time and place we might have witnessed leinart and warner sharing co mvp honors,

but alas we are the cardinals and all thats left to us now are dreams of what might have been,

i've asked myself why until i'm blue in the face, and i just can't fathom how one organization can have as much bad luck or karma or whatever you want to calll it,
but as someone else pointed out on another thread whiz got his first taste today of what its like to be a cardinal and all of the cardinal fans both young and old can feel the same old cards mantra coming at us again,

and if as 82cardsgrad said even the players are giving up on plays, then we are in for a long rest of the season,
but just so you don't think i'm all doom and gloom the hags are getting shredded by the saints right now so who knows 8 and 8 might just win us the division this year;)

That were certainly explain why every single close call and review in the 2nd half went in Carolina's favor.

I'm worried that the only way we can get to 8-8 is if the NFL lets our guys play other teams in Madden on a Big Screen TV in the training room.
