The potential top pick in this year's NFL draft, Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter, will not be working out at the Penn State Pro Day on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Carter's agent Drew Rosenhaus had this to say to Schefter:
“He (Carter) is still finishing up rehab on the shoulder injury he had from the Boise State game. He may still do a workout for teams sometime in mid April.”
The Athletic's Dane Brugler would mention that Carter will be present at the Penn State Pro Day and will be measured. Brugler added that Carter left the NFL combine early for medicals and did not measure in at that time.
During the NFL combine, it was revealed that Carter had a stress reaction in his right foot. The injury, however, would not require surgery.
“I couldn’t be more confident that this will be a non-factor where he’s drafted," Rosenhaus said back in late February.
Carter is widely considered the top prospect in this year's draft and is expected to be taken in the top-three, if not go No. 1 overall. Although a mock draft recently from a former NFL GM had Carter sliding down to the Jacksonville Jaguars at fifth overall.

An additional note: I'm told Abdul Carter will be present at tomorrow's Pro Day and will be measured.
Carter had to leave the Combine early for medicals and we didn't get verified numbers in Indy. https://t.co/x3CDJxrvkS
