Top defensive prospect Abdul Carter is now expected to miss Penn State's pro day workout on Friday due to a lingering foot injury. That's the report from Jonathan Jones of CBS, which has been confirmed by Carter's agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Carter is the Nittany Lions star EDGE and, as Jones notes, expected to be one of the top three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. He didn't work out at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis after the medical evaluation there revealed an issue with his right foot. That malady is now extending into a longer time and will keep Carter sidelined.

The long-term extent of the injury is unknown. The lack of athletic testing shouldn't impact Carter's draft stock, which is sky-high based off his game film. However, durability concerns are now a bigger issue; Carter suffered a shoulder injury during the Fiesta Bowl that has also impacted his preparations for the draft.

The current belief is that Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter will not work out at tomorrow's pro day, multiple league sources tell @NFLonCBS. Carter is a potential top-3 pick in April's draft even after tests revealed a stress reaction in his right foot at the combine.
