This guy is a liability who can't game plan against indomitable QBs like Andy Dalton, Landry Jones, Nick Foles, Russel Wilson and now Blaine Gabbert.

We need to trade him and Kevin Minter for Ray Horton this offseason or there is no hope.

Hard to defend the game plan today. But when you're team is number three in the NFL in total defense threads like this are ridiculous ...

Ranked 14th in points per game against a weak schedule despite having elite secondary talent.

Brady and Rodgers will run circles around this guy in the playoffs.

Again third in the NFL in total defense in the top half in the NFL and points against like you just stated. With arguably the worst linebacking corps in all of football and no pass rush. Now what do you have?

Do what Horton and Bowles did despite having even less talent? No excuse for no pass rush with Campbell and Rucker on the line. Bettcher just doesn't know how to exploit matchups.

There's a talent deficiency in the front seven and we have three rotational d linemen out.

Biggest issue today is the short, slow safeties in Johnson & Jefferson. They can't match up with big fast TE's.

SF scored 13 points at home with Gabbert playing well.

Oh yeah, and the Cardinals won when their defense made a big stop.

We gave up 13 points the 49ers at home!!!!

Defense played great. You hold an NFL team to 13 points not much more you can do

You obviously haven't watched Dalton all season...he's carved up just about every team they've played, except the Texans...Foles wasn't the issue with the Rams, it was Gurley...Landry Jones played lights out, and the Cards were clearly prepared for Vick, who they held in check until he got hurt...Again, Russell Wilson isn't an overnight sensation in the NFL...Blaine Gabbert just carved up the Seahawks last week and even Arians praised his game.

If you want to nitpick only giving up 13 points on the road, go ahead...but the defense wasn't an issue today.

The 49ers were scoring an average of 13.9 points per game prior to today and scored an average of 15 points in their two previous games with Gabbert (17 points & 13 points).

It's good to see Ray still posts on here in his spare time.

No one is anywhere as bad as Billy Davis or Clancy Pendergast. It's hard to game plan against a bunch of nobodies who have no tape and are desperate to make a roster after this season.

I mean, their names were Blaine and Vance. What NFL coach ever imagines they need to gameplan against dudes named BLAINE and VANCE?

Whatever Bettcher is, he's still learning good or bad. We're 9-2.

Cards 9-2 record sucks! Maybe we will be the 2nd worst playoff team in NFL history again :D

I would agree Betcher hasn't won me over yet. But we gave up 13 points on the road to a QB who has been playing well. This was a bad day for the O.

Not a huge fan of his, but this game was on the O...

+1, the #1 offense looked pretty mediocre today. Our defense lacks a pass rush and there were some guys hurt (Bucannon, Redding, Rucker) so to still only give up 13 points on the road is pretty impressive even if SF's offense isn't what it once was. Our defense is a bend not break type, they give up yards and have let teams back into games (SEA, BAL, CIN) but they come up with stops when they need to.

I am not a fan of Bettcher so far, he is just average to me and his game time adjustments leave a lot to desire but one can only improve on that with experience... but I do have one thing to say, Rodgers got schooled by the freaking Chicago defense because the man simply has no healthy weapons and I see the Cardinals beating Green Bay :)
