Probably hanging out with the people that had to have Horton as head coach.

Where is Horton btw? I didn't hear him in any HC interview talk. Probably tearing it up as a great DC somewhere right?

He is actually not with a team right now.

I like the clean start and the fact that in all probability Arians will not be putting his fingers into the mix. Had Bettcher been hired as HC, Arians would have been HC by proxy.

I know. I just never got all the love some people were giving him a couple years ago.

Look at the stats his defense had against the top quarterbacks in the league during his time with AZ. It was impressive...........against the run? Not so much tho.

I don't think he was a bad coach. I just think with all the tallent he had to work with he SHOULD have had one of the top defenses.

But all that aside I don't think any of us here can say what coordinators will be good head coaches. Especially from another state. Most look at how the team performed that year or maybe the one before and say "Man, that guy is a great coach."

For example, many weren't happy that Todd Bowles was hired as DC because the Philly defence was a train wreck. I think time has mostly shown that he was not only a good DC but it is looking like he is a good HC as well.

So I just sit back and wait for the press confrence to see who I will be rooting for next year.

I'm not a Bettcher fan. I felt he put in a game plan and stuck to it no matter what was going on. IMO he never made adjustments. I don't see him as a leader.

Not sure he has the gravitas just yet to hold the respect of some of the veterans. With the Giants that will be put to the test.

Cards are likely to get a DC who never called plays or who called plays for one year. Be careful what you wish for season 27625. Fingers crossed.

You mean like when we made Bettcher DC?

Goodbye, and good luck. He's going to need it. Never should have been hired here, and I'm happy to see his back. The New York media is going to eat him for lunch, once he gets his lunch stolen by the opposition. I do wish him well, because he seemed like a class act. I just never rated him as a DC.

Bettcher is leaning to the Titans....

Buckley and Gambadoro are other 2 always wrong

Somers still be the best in the business

Somers employer holds him to a significantly higher standard than the AZSports radio crew.

He's slower in reporting due to this, but his word is usually correct.

Freddie Kitchens signed as Browns AHC/QB coach. Hue Jackson is high on BA's coaches.

I have no real feeling for Bettcher one way or the other. Hard to criticize a guy who had to follow Todd Bowles, since I feel Todd Bowles is a top coach in the NFL.

That being said, I am extremely happy he is gone.

It has been REALLY bothersome to hear all the comparisons between Wilks and Arians.

Arians is gone, retired. I was a big fan of Arians, and his large personality gave him a lot of supporters, but again, Arians is gone.

I do not care who Wilks is like Arians. No one bit. I do want Arians coming around the practice field. I do not want Arians' influence to come into play in any way. And while I understand Arians just retired, I could care less what Arians is doing right now, or the comparisons between the two coaches. Arians is retired, I hope BA is happy, and resting.

Steve Wilks has to be Steve Wilks, and run Steve Wilks' systems. The less coaches from the BA regime the better in my book. The Cardinals hired Wilks to run the show, so let the man run the show.

Good luck Betcher, wish you well.

Bowles was obviously better but I think Betcher was better than Horton who was a quality DC.
