uh no, you don't bench the best running back you have
Uh yes you do. Especially when he is fumbling in key situations, nissing practices with no excuse, and playing like crap.

That they would pay Warner top 5 QB money if they made the SB. When it happened, it was reported that Graves told him things change. Somebody posted it in one the 10,000 Warner threads earlier in the week.
You guys kill me. Edge is under contract. The team isnt holding him hostage. They have his rights END OF STORY!
Just because he is unhappy we shoudl release him? Do you believe we shoudl just release Q too? Are we holding him and Dockett hostage as well?
Edgerrin James said:In James' eyes, it's bad enough that he had to endure the worst individual season of his career -- one that included his being benched midway through the season -- even if it did end with the Cardinals' reaching the Super Bowl.
The Cards do have his rights but my thinking is that they have no plans on him being on the team next year. That's not the case with Boldin and Dockett. It seems like they are keeping him hanging there, maybe just out of spite. If there was chance he'd be on the team i could see keeping him but he's not playing in Arizona,by either camps wishes, so why not let him go.You guys kill me. Edge is under contract. He missed ONE practice.
I didn't say he should get away with it; I specifically said he should have been benched for a game. But seven? Come on. You don't bench a player to the point it becomes a detriment to the team.Yep, he missed ONE MANDATORY practice.
If he is allowed to get away with that, what message does that send to the rest of the team?

this:Seven ganes? How was it a detrement to the team? Did the "Team" not go to the Super Bowl?
Everyone kept saying "We're going to need Edge fresh for the really hard (cold weather) games towards the end of the season" (Philadelphia, Patriots, etc). But then, he wasn't even used for those games. At a time when it would have played to Edge's strengths & experience. It was lame, and possibly cost us wins. Did we wind up needing the wins? No. But you don't gamble like that.
I don't need to be raked over the coals just because I have a different opinion.
Kiss my butt!!Yes you do! :claphat:
The 'worst season of his career' is the year he got to the Super Bowl? That tells you all you need to know about James. Talk about classless.
Yeah because the Cardinlas never draft for need. Everyone in the NFL knows the Cards will be looking for RB help in the draft even if James was on the roster. They may not take a RB in round 1 but one will be taken pretty early. That's not a big secret. For those clamoring to cut him and be done with it..
Why??
You dont head into the draft with one RB on your roster... it may sound silly but these GMs like to head into the draft without tipping their hand..
If they cut Edge, everyone knows that the Cards are gonna take an RB, and if other teams know that, they can trade up or down, or do w/e if they have some knowledge that AZ will likely take an RB..
As I said, the effect is probably pretty small, but you don't tip your hand in any way in regards to the draft and your needs
