First off on the Warner thing, i think someone said the local radio guys reported it. I don't know if it's true or not but somebody reported it.

As for Edge, Jake Plummer has a better chance of being on the team next year. I can't believe some of you think it's even a remote possibility. Graves knows it.Edge knows it. You're not covering yourself when you are just planning on releasing him later. You're being vindictive. Edge is being stupid by complaining as well. However i can see his frustration. Lamont Jordan and JJ have signed contracts and they are useless. He's not helping his cause and just makes it more likely that Graves keeps him longer. Graves has all the leverage but the Cards could go through the draft RB-less and James will still not be on the team. They are not going to pay him 5+ million dollars when they can get out of it for nothing. Edge is not going to re-structure either.

You could see his frustration when he pointed at a framed photo of himself in a Cardinals uniform and said the picture needed to change. You could see it when he found one of his Cardinals jerseys lying over an office chair and said the uniform was right where it needed to be -- near the trash can. And that bitterness surfaced again when James welcomed Cardinals safety and fellow Miami alum Antrel Rolle into the Hurricanes' weight room by shouting, "You're about to have Arizona all to yourself."
James is now Dead to me. Jerkhole

Our money is still green. He won't get nearly as much next season.

Wow, people really need to get some perspective. How many of you actually think we'll keep Edge for next year? NOBODY??? That's what I thought.

Imagine that your boss pretty much told you two months ago that they were going to let you go. Now imagine that there are a ton of job postings out there that you can't apply for because your boss won't let you and he's WAITING for NO GOOD REASON to let you go.

It's absolute BS by the Cards. They know they're going to release him so just do it already. Give him an opportunity to catch on with another employer.

If you were in his shoes, you can't tell me you wouldn't be pissed. Put aside everything that happened this year and focus on the facts.

Fact 1: They're eventually going to release him.
Fact 2: There's no good reason to keep someone that you know you're going to release.

I'd be freaking raging right now if I were Edge. This smacks of lousy management and a lack of class more than any move I've seen in a long time.

I could absolutely see thsi team carrying Edge on the roster next year. They dont need his money toward the cap for any reason.

It certainly doesnt smack of lousy management or lack of class. What it smacks of is a smart football move and intelligently not giving in to a players petty demands.

The Cards in the long run are in this for their best interests. Not Edges. Thats how it should be!

Even though it's been made pretty much clear up until the playoffs that the TEAM didn't see Edge as their type of back, you think they want to go into next season with him? That makes no sense.

You guys seem to forget the comments from Whiz about how they think TH brings more of an explosive element to the team and that's what they're looking for. Edge has been Edge from day 1. He never came in and said "HERE COME SOME 80 YARD RUNS!".

It's been made clear by Whiz that he doesn't fit his style of running back. If they bring him back next season, that scares me more than anything because it means Whiz still doesn't feel comfortable with his running backs and he couldn't find the guy he wanted to carry the load.

Before he was benched I thought I read that he led the league in runs 1 yard or shorter.

1. He signed the contract...
2. He played like trash....
3. This team gave him the big payday....
4. This team even made moves to placate his ego (black shoes, video games in locker room)
5. He was given the key to the ride 2 seasons ago and performed like a back making half as much....

It's about time he understood what being the starter is all about. Last I heard.... HE was the starter and Hightower was the goal line back. For a Championship level team no less!!! Unless he plays like a guy trying to fall down (Which he has shown he is capable of) I don't know what more he could ask for.

Maybe the Cardinals feel keeping Edge on the roster until the draft is completed will keep other teams guessing. The Cardinals will probably select a RB in the draft but other teams will not know which round they go that direction with Edge as insurance.
