Cards trade Leinart to Raiders. Campbell gets hurt in game one and Matt starts against Arizona at UPS.

How Cardinal would that be?

Matt would pull a TO & slam the ball down on the Cardinal at midfield after throwing a TD & Wiz would run to the 50 and slam him to the ground.:D

Hey Bucky should we rub it in their faces that the QB that has taken the most grief on ASFN of the three from 2006 is doing the best?

Cutler is on his second team and doesn't look good. Leinart is Toast losing his job to Derrick INT Anderson. Meanwhile our boy Vince Young has lead his team to victory 13 times in his last 16 starts.

Hook 'em

Kind of tough to do considering Leinart played for our team & I really thought the success/failure of the 2 would be reversed.

So, not being interested = not being contacted?

Nope. But the teams have stated on the record that they have never had any discussions about trading for Leinart. It may turn out that they're lying and the rumors are true - but your claim was that "Giants, Raiders, etc. have said they did receive phone calls." I think it would be more accurate to say that teams have been reported to have interest, or rumored to have been contacted by the Cardinals. But let's not state as facts things which are speculation or claims that were then retracted or "clarified" by the same person who originally made them.

um, wouldn't it follow that a team who keeps most of it's number picks likely has seen those picks reach the levels predicted for them?

Is this guy for real?

um, no it doesn't. The position in which the player is picked has little to do with how the vast majority of them perform. Most #1 picks don't live up to their hype.

It's always been and always will be hit and miss.

Like oh lets say Kurt Warner for instance....

Does this guy have a brain?

He did go to Texas didn't he? Does that explain why he that got the lowest Wexler/Wechsler/Wonderlich score ever in the NFL? I think it was reported to be a 6 wasn't it?

You have never seen the numbers then on the percentages of how many AP all pro's, pro bowlers, and other accolades get divided up per round the draft have you. Hint, the percentages go down as the rounds get lower, expect for UDFA's which actually goes back up but that is more a sign that there is a much bigger UDFA pool then just 32 players in any given round to choice from.

Young majored in football. So far he has outscored both Cutler and Leinart and aced his final college exam as BCS winner. He has been successful on 13 of his last 15 deals.

Once again another young man gets a great education at THE University of Texas and likely makes 10 times as much money as you do.

Edit: Make that 40 times as much money as you do.

OK I'll bite. Cite the numbers.

Let's see hoe these numbers disprove my statement?

If all 22 All-Pro's were number 1 picks, which isn't the case, what would that say about all the other number 1's? Since they all weren't picked the same year, lets use the fact you have 160 #1's in a 5 year period?

Some suceed of course but the "vast majority" don't live up to the hype as I said. If 20% become "all pro" what does that say about the 80%?

Boy that was a cutting comeback.

First off you have no idea how much money I earn and if that's what the University of Texas stands for I feel sorry for the students who aren't involved in sports.

How's this for a slogan - "At Texas you won't be able to write a sentence but you maybe could play football if you can remember the plays." - Hook 'em horns!

At Texas we don't care if you can write a sentence if you can make $4 million dollars a year. You can buy English Professors with that kind of money. And I doubt very much you come anywhere close to that.

In fact why don't you post your tax returns for the last 4 years and if you have made more than $25 million dollars then you can talk about Vince Young and his education.

Having read your posts it's obvious you care little about the ability to write a sentence.

As to your other point I'm not so certain he can "buy an English professor", and I don't know what he'd do with him if he could, but he sure can can beat people in strip clubs.

The beating he was charged with was in a strip club wasn't it?

Hey, Duckjake, you're a good guy and if you like the Cardinals enough to write here then you write and think what ever the hell you want.

Lets call a truce. If I posted our tax returns my wife would be furious with me but the kids would treat me better!

We might not agree on much but the "ode" you use for your signature (See Stand Around Levi Brown watching his QB get slammed to the ground) hits the nail on the head.

Hope you have a good holiday and the Big Red have a great season.

How about this:

work on my foundation [for at-risk youth] in the afternoon,

Young said he turned down a chance to attend the Super Bowl and all of its parties to focus on his studies. He wants his degree because he wouldn't feel comfortable talking to kids about the importance of education if he didn't complete his own.

What a bum.

Hey I said truce but if you fell better buddy, you win.

I conceed that if he gets a degree he'll know what to do with the Prof when he buys him.

But 1 thing I can't let pass. I never said he was "a bum". Just that he got a 6 on the W/W/W test given by the NFL.

I'm glad he's got himself together after the awful emotional problems he's had but he should stay out of the strip clubs.

I know this guy, James Michener. Has a library at Texas named after him. One of my favorite authors.

Thanks though for reminding me how long I've been a Cardinals fan. When I first started following the Big Red King Hill and John Roach were the QBs.

Dang I've gotten old. But at least I got to see the Cards play in a Superbowl.

That is just about when I started as a fan as well...if my memory serves me didn't Hill go to Rice??? That started quite a string of qb's.....until Sam the Rifle Etcheverry came to town!!!! Remember to two Notre Dame "bombs" we also had? I do!!

If I'd have known you guys were from my era I wouldn't have been so hard on you. I went to my first Cardinal's game in 1958 and was at the last game they played in Chicago, at Soldier Field, in 1959. Most people don't remember but King Hill was the "extra" first round pick which they gave the worst team in the league at that time. Sam, the Canadian retread, always threw those silly "jump passes". I have corresponded with Charlie Johnson a time or two, he's a professor at New Mexico, and quite an accomplished one at that.

I always said I'd die if the Sox won the WS, the Big Red the SB and the Hawks the SC. I was at all three but only flirted with my mortality when we came within a minute of doing all three!

All this Raiders talk is hilarious.
I think you forget that Weird Al is still in charge, and he kinda has a thing for rocket-armed QB's.

Hill, Roach and Etcheverry were the Cards leading passers in order 1959, 1960 and 1961.

It wasn't too bad being a Cards fan in those days. Frustrating because only two teams made the post season but at least they were competitive.

From 1960-1970 the Cards were 75-68-9 and had 5 seasons where they won 8 or 9 games out of 14 and of course then there was the amazing run in 1970 where the Cards allowed only 6 points over a 4 game stretch. 0,0,0,6. That would be unreal today. That defense had two HOF players.
