Jerry is meeting in Chicago this week to talk with Sam Zell about buying the Cubs. I know very little about this man. Would he be a good owner who has the desire and drive to win??????

He'd at least try and spend money to bring in a winner. He was able to do it for the DBacks but kept falling short with the Suns.

What is this thread doing here? When did the cubs join the NFL?

Yep, this thread would have been more appropriate in either the Suns or Dbacks forums.

Airizona sports fans would know a lot about this guy is why I posted it. Did it really ruin your day? If he had owned the Wranglers would that have been appropriate? I have seen many post about the local Universities which is fine with me and gives me insight which I welcome. Some posters were kind enough to provide some thoughtful information.

Well, the point is that you could have received more insightful information if it were placed in either the Suns or DBacks forums.

It's not that it has ruined my, or anyone else's day, but trying to point you in the right direction instead.

We would not have a baseball if it had not been for Colangelo stepping up to the plate. He has been very good for the Arizona sports fan. Looks like the blood runs in the family to. His son Brian is doing very well as GM in Toronto.

I think he was trying to equate the Cubs losing to the Cards losing and it got lost in translation.:p But since the Cards are the Cubs of the NFL and Colangalo would be the polar oppisite of the Bidwills in terms of trying to field a winning team, I say he would be a good owner for the Cubs. Even if it is futile. The Cubs will never win. If the Cards would do everything they could to win they would not have this stigma, but since they never have tried, they are stuck. Couldn't resist getting in another trueism about the ownership:D
