That's a very good deal for the Jets if it is true.

Why are we surprised..... he was never talked about by coaches or the front office and never scheduled to come in... doesn't sound like they were chasing him too hard.

According to Espn the Jets have scheduled a news conference for tomorrow to announce the signing.

Well since Graves admitted the guys that are their top choices may not be scheduled yet....we have no real idea what their interest level is :D

A 10 million signing bonus for a 5' 9" corner that has never been to the pro bowl is a good deal. I'd agree he was the best available, but that is a hell of a price. We'll pay similar money for the 3rd pick (a couple million more). Its the same with Robaire, big time bucks for a good player that might, only might, become a star.

Not yet scheduled??? They are scheduled for other teams, and they aren't leaving town without contracts... better get hopping.

That's Stark's price tag... 5 yrs 25 million... would you trade Starks for Winfield right now?

Nope, I stick with Starks. He comes off the books in a few years and IMO, is actually a better corner when healthy.

If Graves philosophy is just to sign "belly" players then he should just hold a tryout with ASFN posters and he can save money since we won't break the bank. :bang: :computer:

I'm not sure, because I couldn't find a source, but I think Stark's signing bonus was only 5 million. 10 million was what Randy Moss got, albeit that was a couple years ago. But if we have to cut Starks due to constant injury problems, we don't have to pay a huge balence of a signing bonus, which the jets will. I'm not arguing that 4 million a year is unreasonable for a good corner which I think Winfield will be, but there is a risk there with that large of signing bonus.
