Mine too. I almost cried when I saw him hobbling with his cane.

I am from Charleston, Illinois and he was the Cards quarterback when they came to my town for training camp. He was the nicest guy in the world. I'll try to find a pic of my younger brother and Hart that was in the local paper. What a genuinely nice guy and Cardinals great.

I really liked our draft but seeing Jim Hart walk up to that podium, cane and all and in a humble tone say "thanks for remembering me" really made me pause and smile :)
I'm an avid sports card collector. I have all his cards and he was my childhood idol along with Lou Brock. Anyway if you ever want some goods I also deal in cards. Let me know I have everything.

Me too. I was born in 1968, so I decided to put together the '68 set in high grade PSA. That is Hart's Rookie card year, and I ponied up for a PSA 10 to make that the kingpin of my set.

Surely there's a video clip of him hobbling up to the podium to make the pick announcement? I looked and didn't find it. Would like to send it to my brother who met him once and got one of their practice footballs ,while he was still playing, and autographed it for me.

A class act all the way! If true, about the "ring of honor" it would be very fitting. To me, if Hart and Lomax had been given more talent by the front office they would have gotten us a super bowl ring. They were that good.

Mark in SC :)

He had no D....Those mid 70's teams offensively were a treat to watch...
