The more I see of Steve Mariucci the less I'm impressed.
I once thought he was a pretty good HC. I'm not so sure anymore.
Russ, I'm sure you know a lot more about this, but I've always had the feeling that Mariucci's past caught up with him in SF and his great exodus to Detroit has yielded far less than many expected.
In defense of Harrington, I think the whole Detroit situation is a rotten one now. I don't think I'd want to be a player there at the moment.
Not only is there questions regarding coaching, but as has been pointed out, both Rogers and Williams having missed as many games as they have has to be part of the "problem" too.
I don't see the Cards realistically being that interested in him. I really don't think he would be that good a fit here with the other personnel we have now.
My first guess is, he will stay in Detroit, and if they can get their house cleaned up more and with a healthy Rogers and Williams in the lineup, he won't look so bad after all.
