Did the three of them finish every game on the floor at the same time, pushing everyone else out of position? Of course not.

The Suns had a lead Point Guard and a clear backup. And Nash was the inexperienced apprentice. Their roles were clear and separate. And it involved one position.

I should hope that Suns management recognizes the difference . . . but they still don't, as evidenced by today's trades.

Jason Kidd might have been better guarding 2-3's than smaller, quicker point guards. In fact I'm sure he was better at guarding the 2. He used to get lit up by the fast point guards. I remember Jason Williams (white chocolate) would give him fits.

But still, Joe, he, KJ and Nash weren't on the court at the same time forcing everyone else out of position.

They were playing at the same time sometimes thought Kidd-KJ-Chapman I think was more common lineup? Or was Finley stil in it?
Pretty sure they used 3-guard or even 4-guard lineups at times.

who the heck is Seth Pollack?lol

I think he works or writes for Valley of the Suns. He's usually there at all the home games, post game interviews and press conferences and such.

I posted this in one of the other threads but since we're talking about Gambo and unhappy players in this thread, probably more relevant here

John Gambadoro ‏@Gambo987
@briesop He was bummed when he found out about the deal. He is a combo guard but he wants to be a point.

John Gambadoro @Gambo987
Knight doesn't love playing the combo guard, he prefers playing point guard

John Gambadoro @Gambo987
Knight was the man in Milwaukee so he was bummed to hear about trade. He will play the 2 in Phx with Bledsoe but move to PG when EB goes out

Another thing to note is that while guys like Ennis and Dragic have tweeted out saying their excited for their new teams, Knight still hasn't posted anything. Now there could be a variety of reasons for it hopefully if it isn't because he's upset about the trade like Gambo said.

The Dallas Mavericks won a title with Kidd, JJ Berea and Jason Terry.

Problem for the Suns was that the big men as a whole are good, and that was not going to be any different no matter what guard lineup they ran, and that they need the right personalities among the guards. I get the impression that IT was rather combative about wanting to supplant others and that Goran was not quite the team player the Suns thought he was.

He went from being the star player on a virtual lock of a playoff team, to being an unknown quantity on a team that probably won't be in the playoffs. Not too shocked that the news was a bummer.

I think Gambo is super salty that the suns traded Dragic. He seemed so adamant about keeping him. I believe he's just trying to stir the pot with the acquisition of Knight.

IT needs to get real. He will never be a starter in the NBA because of his limited height and his lack of defense. Actually, IT was put in a good situation with the Suns because he was getting significant minutes in their three guard rotation.

Bump. I love this. We have such selective memories.

Yeah, I remember Thomas getting trounced in a lot of threads. I remember one poster that claimed the difference between Dragic (might have been Bledsoe) and Thomas was greater than the difference between Lebron and Tucker.

I believe he was also frequently called things such as "below average guard", "ball stopper", "biggest defensive liability in the game", and "locker room cancer" among several other less than positive names.

JC, if your intention is to try and insult/mock Mainstreet or me (OP) by bumping threads, just remember that me or Mainstreet could also take the time to look up posts from yours in the past in which you said some rather questionable things. I don't know anyone on this forum who hasn't. I actually don't know anyone on any forum who hasn't. I used to think Eric Gordon would be our savior when we gave him that contract and thought he would be awesome but he turned into an injury nightmare. And I've said many other dumb things too. And since he commented right after you in here, I also remember AzSteve being a big Anthony Bennett fan and wanted the Suns to select him in that draft.

Difference is neither me, Mainstreet, you or Steve are paid millions of dollars to be a GM of a team and make the right decisions. The four of us and others on this board form opinions and make posts based on the limited information available to us. NBA GMs aren't like that. And like I said in the other thread, that doesn't mean I expect McDonough to never make mistakes because obviously we all make mistakes in our careers and in our lives. But when it comes to our careers, it's our job to get right because we actually get paid for it. So when we get it wrong, we deserve the criticism that comes with it.

If I misinterpreted your intention then nevermind but it seems like this is your intention. Not your first time bumping old threads in this similar fashion either.

I've made plenty of mistakes but you've misrepresented my position here. Only the second portion of the bolded comment is accurate. I wanted us to draft Bennett but I wasn't exactly a Bennett fan.

I thought there was a very good chance that he would bust and said so many times but once Noel went down, I thought he had the highest up-side in the draft of the prospects that would NOT negatively impact our draft position the following season. I was a huge fan of Parker and Wiggins, far more so than anyone in Bennett's class, and wanted to insure the best odds for drafting one of them.

My point is that we are all brilliant in retrospect. I include myself in that number. It is not to mock. I bumped a thread that seemed most pertinent, not that makes me look good. If you would like to find silly things I said, be my guest. I am sure there are plenty. It's just that sometime the criticisms of mgmt are over the top IMO. In the case of IT the things that McD knew that we did not might have even been more of a reason to trade him.

Yes it was a bad trade. But no one except maybe Danny Ainge thought IT would do what he is doing now. Good grief, even Ainge might be surprised.

I like the way McD is handling this team overall. Every Gm will make mistakes. But overall he had been solid.

BTW. I quoted Mainstreet because what he said is overall characteristic of many of us, not because I was trying to mock him personally. . . . I keep trying to figure a way of explaining why I did this. But I can't seem to get it right. Let me just say this.

Sorry. My intent was not to insult. I won't bump any more threads.

Never thought he'd be this good though. By the way didn't he start quite a lot of games for the Kings? I remember EJ raving about him when he played on the Kings.
