So John, why do you think you and the offense in general has struggled?

It's all on me. I'm not really that smart and my accuracy sucks. I don't think any NFL team should ever think of giving me a chance to be on their squad. Oh wait, that doesn't help my career.......WHiz sucks.

Cause when you speak out to Whiz even if you are right you get benched, or cut. Then he will make up excuses of why he cut you even after you just signed a 4 year deal and drag your name through the mud to the media for no reason with a bunch of lies. #NateHodel

Watching Bull Durham should be mandatory for all Cardinals.

If Skelton thinks any other coach in the league would have given him this much of a shot he is crazy. I was in favor of giving him a shot this season, but he was totally awful. The most inaccurate QB we have ever had (including Derek Anderson). Don't know what Skelton is hoping to acheive, I can't imagine the new coach wanting to keep him moving forward.

Brian St. Pierre was picked up so was DeWreck Anderson. Josh McCown was still playing this year and Luke McCown just finished his 7th NFL season. Graham Harrell from the Texas Tech offense that never produces quality NFL QBs is the back up in Green Bay for the second year. Bruce Gradkowski is the back up in Cincinnati. David Carr was on the Giants roster. Rusty Smith in Tennessee. Heck the Cowboys took Ryan Leaf for a season.

So I wouldn't be too sure Skelton won't catch on somewhere else. You just never know.

Sure if you do what Beanie did and say you're auditioning for other teams.

but we didn't see one person on any form of media come out and say Skelton shouldn't have been benched, not a single one.

We've seen comments from Dockett etc in the last couple of years when they're not happy, but not one player ever spoke up in defense of Skelton. It's because they all know why he got benched.

John "the Dufus " Skelton should kiss the coaches arse for the chances he received. Get this ungrateful piece of crap out of Arizona now.

It does not matter if Whis had to go or not, the Bartels and Skeltons of the league which suck should have as much importance of their opinion on the importance of winning as their performance on the field. These guys if anything should be thanking Whis for the opportunity to even see an NFL football field :)

Why?

These guys have no say in where they play. And nobody knows if Skelton would or wouldn't have been drafted somewhere else. The Cards actually traded up to get him apparently because they were worried some other team would take him.

As for players defending Skelton being of any importance that's nuts. No player is going to come out during the season and say something like that. Well except maybe a guy like TO and we don't have any of those guys on our roster.

Why? Because the guy sucked and I'm just going off the facts. There is no evidence that other teams were going after him and if so...we rushed to get him in the later rounds because we did not want to lose his immense talent in the say the latter part of the 6th or 7th lol. He is horrible in my opinion and my stance is that you have to accomplish something to have any validity to open ones mouth.

We didn't even get an unnamed player report. We've got Dockett who posts pictures and details of whatever pops into his head with no fear of retribution and he didn't say a word. Bartel has been on with the media off and on for a bit now yet not once has he said(that I'm aware of) the team was furious when Skelton got benched.

There IS a reason, it's because the guys on the team know why Skelton got benched and even if Lindley was horrible, they knew Skelton had shot himself in the foot.

there is no freaking way he shot himself in the foot, he is way too inaccurate to hit any part of his body...rather he opened up a hand grenade and fell on his career :D

No matter what happens with Whis or the Cardinals or anyone, all Skelton's comment represented to me is the last time I ever have to see or hear about this clown again. Good riddance.

According to Bartel on the radio today the Cardinals didn't do hardly any developmental coaching whatsoever. They basically just handed you the playbook and told you when you were doing something wrong. He specifically pointed to the lack of Skelton's development and said that he has all the talent to be a great QB, but just wasn't getting the required coaching. He also pointed out that Xs and Os of the system were actually pretty easy compared to other offenses he had learned on other teams.

That's exactly what Bartel said...

...which is really quite a knock on Whis and staff....look at what Belichick did with Matt Cassell, a kid who had not started a game since high school. Young QBs have to be "coached up" on the most trivial of details.....perhaps the collection of stiffs we have had under contract were never going to be any good, but it's also obvious there was no plan in place on how to develop these athletes. And help them reach their full potential.

Well, if Fartel says it's true, it must be.

So we spent years hearing about how Big Ben hated all the drills and mechanics teaching Whiz did in Pittsburgh, and how Whiz ruined Leinart in Arizona by reworking his mechanics? And now Rich Bartel tells us there was no development at all?

Yeah I buy that.

Cmon are people all suffering amnesia here? We were beaten over the head for years about how Whiz drills QB's. Big Ben hated it, Warner actually talked about hit helping resurrect his career. Leinart hated it, we were told by Warner that Whiz was teaching Matt how an NFL QB has to prepare.

And yet Rich Bartel says it's not true and we're going to forget years of talk that completely contradicts what Bartel is saying?

Ok maybe he didn't say "no" development, but that there was a lack of it.

So you guys are saying that Bartel came on the radio and told outright lies? Awfully risky thing to do when there are 60-70 other eye witnesses to what went on.

Wow, this forum is so much better than the other "official" one.

I never saw this link posted over there - they're too busy merging threads and other unnecessary moderating to make the forum as un-user friendly as possible.

Cheers for posting this link/story.

As far as it goes, I think it's a clear indicator that Whis had lost the team. I'm surprised it didn't come more from the defense considering how well they played, practically gift wrapping games for the offense.

Guy is open. Skelton sees it. Skelton actually has time on this play. Skelton's throw ends up in another state. I agree, this staff stunk at coaching our QBs but that kind of horrid accuracy can not be corrected and Bartel is just a bitter not good enough ex QB for the NFL. He is just piling on due to his own lack of success.
