Brandon Marshall has missed parts of two seasons due to injuries....hence why he is available.

yup.

maybe we can get him on the super cheap though? that would be a solid "depth" signing/insurance policy if they're really going to depend on Reddick (a possible bust) and Hicks (a possible injury related problem).

I doubt it.

He hasn't been Hicks good, but he is a pretty good player.

Very excited about Hicks. He was my second choice at ILB after Denzel Perryman but the Chargers were able to sign him before the FA period began.

Hicks is the kind of all around ILB that the Cardinals have been missing the last couple of years.

Great except we are not a 4-3

OLB Suggs
DE Nkemdiche
NT Peters
DE ?
OLB Jones
ILB Hicks
ILB Reddick
CB Peterson
CB Alford
S Baker
S Swearinger
Do we draft Quinnen Williams and plug him into that ? spot? Because looking at this, while Bosa would be a nice addition, he doesn't fit an immediate need. And if you're right with the above, this has the making of a pretty freaking scary defense especially if we draft Williams.

Q at one DE and Reed and / Or someone else in a rotation. Nkemdiche won’t be counted on for most of the year coming off ACL, and still won’t be counted on. Would like to see the Comisky kid as a late round DE.

Bosa can play that spot initially too

26 years old and has a ring. Durability is a concern but he is a great locker room guy, great in the community, quality human being, plays hard and plays well. Very good move and great value in comparison to Mosely’s deal. Keim haters will still bitch.
7 million less per yr than Mosley got with the Jets.

Hicks is very good and yes I've posted before we (Hopefully) acquired him I did post he has injury concerns. I share Cheese's concerns with all the players we have signed with too much injury history but I'm good with the Hicks signing. I would also like us to draft an ILB in the draft as insurance.

Has to be said because everyone we sign means we're drafting Murray! Murray is the pick!

Hicks was really good before all the injuries the concern is the type of injuries he's had you don't always get back to 100% and he hasn't looked 100% since then. Very good player but he has only been a great player for 1 year and hasn't reproduced it since due to injury.

So if eh's healthy great signing, if he's still going to have the injuries, then it's a reach.

But I like the risk at his age a few years removed from the major injury it's worth a look

Bosa can play DE on the 3-4 .

I have serious reservations about that (for all that's worth)

3-4 DEs are basically defensive tackles. It would be asking a really good player to regularly do the thing he is worst at

Disagree with your disagreement...MIKE LB is way different than the 3-4 ILBs with regard to gap assignment, fits, reads, and space in most coverages...
The MIKE in a 4-3 has to cover more ground than that of a MIKE in a 3-4. MIKE ILB in a 3-4 is far less demanding. Hicks going from a 4-3 MIKE to a 3-4 MIKE is a very easy transition.

Disagree when it comes to ILBs.

I dunno. I'm trying to remember whether Jonathan Vilma was better in a 4-3 and then suffered in the transition to a 3-4. I'm pretty sure he was a player this happened to.

4-3 MLBs have a lot more protection to run around and flow to the ball, although they have more demanding pass coverage responsibilities (often). 3-4 ILBs have to be more physical and will blitz more frequently, but generally they don't have to play as well in space (because there are dudes all around 'em.
