Cardinals now have filled needs at cornerback (Alford), inside linebacker (Hicks), edge rusher (Suggs) and right tackle (Gilbert). Also added depth.

I wouldn't say they solved their problem at right tackle quite yet.

No one is prone to a pec or Achilles tear. It's the vagaries of a crash sport.

Guess you didn’t watch him in college. He had a fractured foot as a sophomore, season ending hip injury his junior season, and ruptured his Achilles (not the one he tore in Philadelphia) the following year.

To be fair to Hicks, he did return his redshirt senior year and played every game which helped him get drafted in the 2nd round.

jeez... I knew about the Achilles with the Eagles, but didn't know about the season ending Achilles and hip injuries in college as well. some bodies just aren't built to take the pounding of the sport.

Hicks has ended up on IR 2 of his 4 years in the league. He’s a good player when healthy.

Another Keim signing where we have to hope the player’s previous injury proneness won’t continue in AZ.

At least he's young (26) and not 33 years old.

Is there any guarantee any player signed won`t get hurt.Some guys plays years for a team and never miss games then get hurt somewhere else.Its all a gamble.

Yep but there wasn't enough money to go around to cover every position of need.

it's more of a gamble when the guys you're depending on are perpetually injured and you're plan perpetually depends on that... and that plan has blown up in your face the last three seasons. Those that ignore the past are doomed to repeat it.

I was looking for something more positive in the Hicks signing. This is it.

Fair point.I don`t know how SK evaluates his potential signings /draft picks.I would think health/reliability/availability all play into the equation along with cost/team chemistry/scheme fit/etc;.All those things should be considered and one would hope the Cards have done their due diligence on their signings.

Alford was one of the words corners in the NFL last year, I hope he is not the starter by the time the season starts.

Wasn't he playing through an ankle injury all last year?

And he only played in 12 games last year, had over 90 tackles and 3 sacks. This is another positive for me.

Brandon Marshall has missed parts of two seasons due to injuries....hence why he is available.
