So if we add Amare, does that help us make a play off run?

I don't think so.

Which is why I don't see Amare picking Phoenix. That and because I think he may feel dissed by Sarver the first time around.

And I am totally ok with Amare not coming back to Phoenix. He wouldn't make much of a difference and we would still have a tough time making the playoffs in the West.

I disagree. Amare is still much better than anything the Suns have at the two power positions. At the end of games, when Hornacek goes small, I would much rather have Markieff and Amare playing 4 and 5 than Markieff and Marcus.

Amare can play pick and roll better than anyone on this roster, and he can stretch the floor well enough.

I think he would be a huge addition if the goal is to make the playoffs.

Having said all that, I think the Suns need to look towards the future. Forget the playoffs, develop youngsters. There should be no place for Amare on a young team like phoenix.

I agree with you that amare and Markieff would be a huge addition but you're way off the mark with what's in bold - there's no place for a veteran who knows the club inside out? Ridiculous.

The latest quote about Amar'e (regardless of what the Suns desires might be) is

Stoudemire says his plan is to sign with a team fighting for a playoff berth...
It is interesting that he referred to a team fighting for a playoff berth rather than one fighting for a championship.

'Smart move on his part, leaving his options open. If he can't sign on with a top team, he'll consider one fighting for a playoff berth. Like the Suns?

I don't think Amare clears waivers until Wednesday so there will likely be a short wait to find out where he is headed.

It looks like Amare is headed to Dallas. It is not surprising.

As Mavs close in on Amar'e Stoudemire, I'm told they will NOT be signing Jermaine O'Neal at this time. Update from @jermaineoneal in works

In his own mind, Amare still has something to prove. Where better, than his first home on a team that can't make the playoffs without him?

Well, hopefully the Suns management group can sit down with Amare and discuss this over a nice tub of Wine.

IIRC, Jordan Schultz is the same guy who said Splitter to PHX was a done deal a couple years back, then SA re-signed him to an extension? Who does this guy think he is......Gambodoro?????

I think he is also the same guy that put up all kinds of trade nonsense in the past that was 100% incorrect as well. I mean it's pretty easy to claim something is true then retroactively say...well it fell apart and it was a done deal. Meh!
