Sheesh all the draft picks including three from Houston now. This doesn't even include the 4th round comp pick they'll for Zach Allen I don't think.
Jakester, when things look bad this season, periodically roll out the above.

P.S. Any comp pick for Murphy?

What is this guy doing, going all out to get the least compensation he possibly can? Simmons for a 7th is a farce--just keep him because he is better than whoever is replacing him at the bottom of the roster. Trading Jones for next to nothing? Why not wait with him until later, when a team loses a tackle to injury so you can, I dunno, maximize the return? This after fluffling the Nuk situation. Sheesh.
Money might be a factor with Simmons.

In truth...I feel like the compensation for Jones is fine. I don't think that I would have made the deal. I don't believe the Cardinals are in a roster crunch and teams tend to get desperate for OTs as the season progresses so I would have held out for more. I am more irritated that they traded Jones to the Texans, but whatever.

Not if he plays like he did this Preseason. Oh that's right you don't watch those.

Summary: He was awful!

Do you think that the Giants are going to get more snaps out of Simmons than we will from our 2024 seventh-round pick?

The Giants are going to try and play Simmons at LB. We've seen that before.

Following Arizona’s Thursday morning dealing of the safety to the New York Giants for a 2024 seventh-round pick, Jordan Raanan, who covers the Giants for ESPN, said the plan for Simmons moving forward is to move him back to linebacker.

“We thought there was some upside there,” Giants head coach Brian Dabboll told reporters Thursday without giving too many specifics on where he might play. “We’ll put him, we’ll ask him to do quite a bit of things just to see what he takes to, but he’s a guy that’s athletic, explosive, has good size. I’ve seen him do multiple things. … Certainly happy to have him.”

This was Simmons talking about what he told the new Cardinals staff about playing LB:

“That was one of the first things they asked me, ‘Where do you see yourself?’ I told them I didn’t want to play linebacker,” Simmons said on Aug. 7. “There’s just things in there that you get thousands and thousands of reps at this point that I never saw before and it was my first time doing it.

“I just felt more comfortable getting back to things that I have done in the past and just kind of ran off with that.”

How long do you think Simmons will last at LB?

It honestly doesn't matter. I'm sure that Simmons thought that Bill Davis was a clown and was happier hanging with the safeties here.

Now his chance to hang around the NFL is to play linebacker. He's not Buster Davis out there. He can play in the NFL, even if it's as a nickel linebacker.

Heh if you like seeing a LB who blows coverages in the nickel all day long, sure.

But that was the literally the reason that the Cardinals drafted him. They couldn't cover a TE to save their lives and Simmons was supposed to be the solution.
