If you think it's "weak" why don't you volunteer to be a mod if you think you can do better instead of critiquing the people who VOLUNTEER their time for us?
He could have also meant 'weak' as in the people that were posting are 'weak' and how unfortunate the mods had to delete the thread...

The mods probably did the right thing.

But the thread had a purpose - A really sad thing happened in the world of football. A lot of fans felt bad about it, were trying to sort out the reasons why it happened and wanted someplace to express and explore their feelings with fellow Cardinal fans. In addition, the physical and psychological impact of the sport on what happens "after football" had been and still is an issue of interest to both the casual and hardcore football fan.

I'm glad there was a thread (I know I felt better after posting my stuff). But I can see the potential for things to spin out of control. I think the mods were right in eventually deleting it.

Maybe it could have been moved to Body & Health. I think it was a healthy "debate" that hopefully served to enlighten some folks on a subject that's often misunderstood--and, ironically, a subject that's often swept under the rug (much like the thread itself).

didnt even get to read it, important topic these days. Must have spun out of control. Should have deleted debates and left the thread for junior tributes.

While I didn't trash the thread, I can see why it was. It definitely took a turn towards criticizing the poster rather than the post. You can get into the comments section of any of the major news services on this topic and see that it's far uglier than it got on this board. There are plenty of places to go down that road if you want.
