Don't bank on a signing. They had Rishard Matthews in and never signed him even though he's tons better than Williams will ever be.

Dan Bailey was out there for the taking and we didn't even bat an eye in his direction.
Why would Dan Bailey come here when he has an opportunity to hold out for a team that isn't already completely out of the playoff race?

He's probably #1 on the list of 50% of the teams out there.

He had tried out for the Jets in before the season started meaning he'd probably have signed with anyone who would pay him.

Trying out doesn't necessarily mean signing with anyone. And the Jets are better than we are.
