But that is the consequence...that is why he shouldn't put himself in those situations. Instead he parties with an immature 19 year old who is drunk and hanging around him for reasons that only are negatives for him.
If you are an angry drunk, you have to deal with the fact that you may put yourself in a situation where you get an assault charge.
If you like young girls, you may put yourself in a situation where she says she is 18 but she isn't, and you get a sex offense charge.
If you like to get messed up and drive...DUI.
It goes on and on. No excuses, especially for these guys who have multiple individuals brought in front of the team who speak about avoiding these situations.
The consequence for questionable judgment should be vilification and the end of his career? Wasn't he the one there with his girlfriend and who kicked these girls out of the party? Not saying he's an angel but the possibility of him trying to do the right thing is there.
We have to guess since no verified report is out there but one story is that he and his girlfriend returned to the hotel room, found his buddies with these women, one of the women hit someone with a lamp and they were told to leave the party. Now, do we know for sure that it was Hunt who had the girls there? Since his girlfriend was also there, it makes it seem questionable. Was he ultimately responsible for who was in his room? Sure. And I think that's why he came out into the hall in the video. He's smiling and looks to be trying to diffuse things. He's talking to someone straight in front of him but something to his left sets him off and he turns that way and shoves the female in question. He didn't come charging out of the room in an aggressive, fighting stance ready to throw down.
So, did he have the girls in the room or did his friends? Did one of those girls hit someone with a lamp and cause trouble leading her to get thrown out? Was he even talking to the girl in the hall or someone else before the shoving? Why were there no arrests?
There is just a lot involved for me to automatically assume that he's a monster who should never be allowed to play football again. I think the details are important and to me, this isn't domestic violence and a pattern of abuse toward women, it's more of a scuffle at the tail end of a party. Did he let his pride and alcohol lead to a lapse in judgment? Yes, it seems pretty clear. Does this mean that he's definitely an abusive, dangerous person? I wouldn't say so.
Getting baited into altercations is by no means commendable and with another alleged incident, he seems to have a problem. But he is being labeled a monster and that he should be locked up. Shoving someone and tapping them with his foot is what he actually accomplished. Seems excessive to lump him in with those who have punched defenseless people in the face, stabbed someone, etc.
If it had been an average sized or even small sized man getting shoved and kicked on the leg would the outrage be similar or the same? If not, why not? If physical disparity is the issue then why is a woman untouchable regardless of actions and a man fair game? Isn't it sexist to exclude women just because of their gender? If someone is willing to dive into a fracas and start punching people in the face aren't they sacrificing their exempt status?
