Haven't you heard? Leaving the Cards via free agency automatically elevates you to best at your position.

I'm sure it's all his pro bowl appearances he's referring to.

He actually said in an interview he was upset with the Cardinals for not promoting him like he thought they should have. Thought the Defense didn't get any love and it was all about the offense that last two years. You know it couldn't have been because the O was awesome and the D was stuck in averageville.

The best LB in the game did a good job last season giving up some extremely long runs.

He wasn't even the best LB in our division. Hell, he was arguably the 3rd best at his position in the division (Willis and Lofa).

AZ Cardinals 51, Green Bay Packers 45

I totally see his point, lol. Caveat that he did score the winning TD.

promoting? good heavens.

this so reminds me of dealing with certain employees: its never about them, it always about what you haven't done for them.

IMO, Dansby's in an elite M/ILB group with Patrick Willis, Brian Urlacher, and Nick Barnett. He's right that the Cards didn't do a good enough job promoting him. That's why he never went to a pro bowl while Adrian Wilson has been to three. London Fletcher went to the Pro Bowl last year. Does anyone here really think that London Fletcher is a better ILB than Karlos Dansby?

Adrian Wilson took the Cards' media relations rep with him to Honolulu when he was first named to the Pro Bowl. There's a reason for that. On the other hand, you had the mouthpiece of the Cards in Ron Wolfley coming out and saying that Dansby wasn't good enough, wasn't a leader, and was a loafer.

If the Cards want their players to give hometown discounts on extensions, they should try and not badmouth them in the media.

You lose all credibility after putting that. Do you even watch football?

Try Willis, Beason, Ray Lewis, London Fletcher, etc...

I'd say he's on par with these guys, but I would say they are all one notch below 'elite'. Kinda like how Amare is one step below 'superstar' status in the NBA.

Wolf is the only paid by the Cards who bad mouthed him. And Wolf is a Radio/TV color analyst. You take his ability away from actually doing "Color" and he would not longer be doing his job. Listen to any basketball, baseball or football radio and TV guys for each team, they are always calling out players on their teams they work for, all color guys do its their jobs.

Yup... and, if he didn't, you just know everyone would be all over his case for being such a "homer".

There is just no way possible you can put Dansby's name in the same sentence as Willis. We are talking about an ILB who doesnt like to hit versus a ILB who wants to break your face, a more productive LB, one of the most complete best defenders in all of football at any position.

Its like saying a good CB like Terrance Newman is just as good as Revis. Neither scenario flies.

Of which they actually do. Even though he will tell you negative things about the team all the time. People only hear what they want I guess.

'Los is one of those rare ILB's who actually can play in all phases of the game at LB at not being a liability in doing it. IMO he's in the top 5

Willis is clearly the best LB in the game right now. I'd put Dansby in the group of elite ILBs with Barnett and Urlacher. I think he's better than Beason, way, way better than Ray Ray is right now, way better than London Fletcher. He's among the Top 5 at his position. That's elite.

I don't know if it's saying that Terrance Newman is as good as Revis. I think it's like saying Charles Woodson or Nmandi Asomugha is as good as Revis. There's a distinction there, but you're talking about the Top 5% at Harvard University.

I like Dansby. However so does he. If you don't believe your the best you never will be. He certainly is being paid as the best! I liked him here and wish him well, but once they go, to me, they are just gone!

Sweet syntax there, joe. What are you trying to say? You don't think that something's going on when Wolfley promotes Brandon Keith as equivalent to a first-rounder and then basically says that Karlos Dansby isn't all that good? Langston Moore is the best DT on the team but defensive captian Karlos Dansby doesn't make enough plays?

I understand why the Cards let Dansby go, but I also understand why Dansby left. Dansby is a Top 5 ILB in the NFC, and the Cards never gave him the kind of exposure that would have promoted that performance.

I went back and looked at some video of last year after Los left. He definitely has the ability to play like the best linebacker in the game outside of Willis. However, the guy's consistency is still very much lacking. If you're playing the Rams or Lions, he's going to give you about 80% most of the time. You don't see that from the best players at their position.
