Yo - Laxman...

You wouldn't be displaying a modicum of homerism in hyping former Orangeman, Karney, would you?

OT - A gentleman's bet on this Saturday's Hopkins - 'Cuse lacrosse game: Even though Hopkins got waxed by Princeton 2 weeks ago, I'll take JHU by 3 goals.

Quality player at the right price - Bring him in - especially because he WANTS TO BE HERE.

Players that want to play for AZ - it brings an enthusiasm that $ can't buy.

You're just letting the memories of Joel Makovicka :D cloud your judgement.

...oh for the days of all the Miss-a-blocka posts....endless comedy among the misery.....

I remember Mike Karney having 3 TDs in that game at Dallas a few years ago.....can't hurt if the $$ is reasonable....

Oh and Cbus, nice to see your boy Beanie in the stands at UFC 96 on Saturday.....

/continues to pine for Knowshon or Donald Brown though

Karney went to ASU. and 'Cuse lax is unstoppable this year.

I think Jeff was confusing Karney with Rob Konrad maybe??

Lax question - why do so many LAX fans have a negative attitude towards the indoor game? Those games are a lot of fun...

My beef against it is it isn't "real" lacrosse to me. The skill level of the players is not high, the goalie's take up the entire goal. It's just too sloppy.

'Cuselaxman will have to fight me for being the biggest Syracuse Lacrosse fan on this site:D

I will bet you all 7,000 A$FN bucks I have that you are dead wrong sir. The 'Cuse is gonna put a smackdown on Hopkins.

Exacctly. Not to mention, the smaller field. It really takes away from the game. It eliminates fast breaks and just looks like something a gym teacher made their class do because they didn't have time to go over lacrosse and hockey. Plus the goalies were hockey pads, WEAK!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what type of cable you have, but Verizon has ESPN U as part of it's sports section now and it covers all of the big games, as well as many of the smaller ones. It was one of the main reasons I switched to FIOS.

I could try to catch some on Justin.tv if they play them on there, but I just have Cox in Arizona, no lacrosse.

One question? Can he play special teams? Is he any good on special teams? (Ok, that's two questions.)

Why do people want Karney so much. What does he bring to the table that some other FB off the street wouldnt bring. I dont ever remember the guy being a good run blocker for the Saints. Above average at best maybe. What am I mssing here? Guys in the ELITE category dont just get cut.

Are we getting excited about the Name or the Player?

He is a solid FB, which is always a plus.. lets not forget T Smith is not under contract. He is also very close to Deuce, who I wouldn't mind as a third option and if we got Karney, I wouldn't be surprised for Deuce to follow in tow.

Will be interesting to see if we even show any interest. Oh yea, isn't Graves supposed to be getting help, so we have time to check these things out?

One shouldn't downplay the effectiveness of blocking FBs. The loss of Lorenzo Neal stifled LT's effectiveness even when he was healthy. When he joined the Ravens, they ranked 4th in rushing after being 16th last season, and their leading rusher was a freaking fullback converted RB. If we can't have T-Smith, than Karney should be our primary option.
