Per KDUS - The team will try to get the deal done with Green today.

If they cannot get it done today.....................they will fly to Buffalo and meet with Fassel tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

I like the fact that, reportedly, the Cardinals Brass is not going to linger and allow themselves to be used as a baraining ship again...sign Green today or forget about it!

I would agree with you, but I don't really see a downside here. Both coaches improve our chances of winning by 1000%!

Agreed but what I am saying is that the Cards know what the market is - don't lowball the guy and **** around. Get it done. We keep hearing about how the business model has changed well prove it by paying market for a coach

I really hope it isn't a case of lowballing. That would be a very bad idea on the Cardinals part. I hope they made a fair offer, and that they stick to it. Regardless of how much we need a Head Coach that can bring success to this franchise, I don't want it to be a "sucker" deal.

I was under the impression the initial offer was in the $2.0 to $2.5 million per year range..might take $3 mil to get green....so I do not think we are that far off...

Personally, I think that the Cards are putting pressure on Green to sign today so he won't be pressured by Al Davis later in the week.

Well, if they lowball Green Fassel won't be here either. Let's hope Denny is in Phioenix soon!

If you are going to Pay Dennis Green that much money... why not open the checkbook and give Jimmy Johnson 4+ million a year....I would rather take my chances with him turning it around....

I think the deal is we are offering him fair money (I.E. they are willing to spend around 3) and if he is not willing to take it then he is probably just stringing us along to get a higher offer from the Raiders. If he doesnt take it we give Fassell 3 mil and are happy.

Jimmy Johnson has no interest in coaching he has made that very evident.

Fassell does not want to be here. At least thats the way it seems to me.

I agree with that. I also think it will take nearly $3 mil to get either deal done.

If we're not offering enough when Green or Fassel want to make a final decision, then we are "playing horseshoes" and any offer lower than acceptable must be considered "far apart" if some other team beats us.

On a more optimistic note - It almost sounds as though the Cards have already let Fassel know that (a) they want Green, (b) may not be able to get Dennis, (c) the job is Jim's if we can't get Green and (d) either way, we won't leave him dangling in the wind any later than Thursday.

I have heard fassel will probably cost more...maybe $4 million per year...but that could change if the only option he has left is Buffalo...

Jimmy Johnson would coach again if the price & situation is right, I think he would probably enjoy the challenge of making the cardinals winners.....with his ego....I think if they offered him enough money and the say so on players he would do it

Regarding Jimmy Johnson....I often wonder if his players made him a winner or did he actually make them winners?

Didn't they get a lot of high draft picks from Minnesota in the Herschel Walker trade right before JJ came in?

I think the Free agents would be lining up to come and play for him here based on his reputation as a winner anyway

Yes, however, he was very fortunate to have all that talent amassed from that trade, that I personally feel that anyone could have done exactly what he did in Dallas.... I liken him to the Joe Torre and Phil Jackson of football, someone who's owner really dictated their teams success.... Johnson didn't exactly do a sensational job with the Dolphins to merit the stature that he has attained....

I know that I didn't just hear you give Jerry Jones credit for the Dallas Super Bowl teams....

Anyone couldn't have done it. Johnson made great draft picks like Leon Lett, Darren Woodson, Eric Williams, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Brock Marion, etc etc.

Jimmy literally hit on 20 picks or so in a 2-3 year span, many of those players became Pro Bowlers.

The nucleus of the Dolphins right now, was built by JJ....

I don't see a Listen Live link on the KDUS site. Does anyone know if you can listen to that station online? Thanks.
