listened to Steve Keim’s Weekly spot on Doug and Wolf yesterday. There was a question posed about what needed to be done over the offseason. His response to the question was something like, “if it doesn’t turn around, you won’t be having this weekly interview.”

Sounds as if Keim will be back next season, but knows that he has to make significant progress with regards to upgrading personnel. I didn’t get a good read on whether or not Wilks is still in the team’s plans in 2019.

"If it's a rebuild next year," Keim said during his appearance on the "Doug and Wolf" show on 98.7, Arizona's Sports Station, "you won't be having this radio show."

He has always been humble about the job and made comments like "if I don't do X, I wont be here anymore"

After so many years with Rod "The Slug" Graves, Keim was a breath of fresh air. I like Keim but know that he is on the hot seat and has to turn it around in the off season.

I wonder, do many other teams’ GM have weekly radio shows? Although it seems par for the course for Keim it dawned on me that it’s probably not a common occurrence throughout the league. If that’s the case, is it an indicator that maybe Keim is just a tad bit too full of himself? Maybe time better spent scouting players?

He has a weekly radio show?? I thought he just did a weekly 10-15 min segment on Doug and Wolf the day following a game.

I guess that’s what I’m talking about then. Does any GM in the league have a regular radio spot?

Fiddlesticks - HC is in over his head and Keim is responsible for hiring him - belcher ain’t doing much better- BA is looking at Cleveland Job- I thought we had a great core of players on both sides of the ball - but the locker room was lost when PP wanted out- I don’t know if Keim can unscramble these eggs - these guys are not prepared to play nfl football on a weekly basis - now they are just cutting talent and throwing the kitchen sink at it. Ever seen a chicken get its head chopped off - cardinals appear to look the same. Probably clean sweep of GM and HC is needed - uhg - lil Billy Bidwill May have to give the trophy back to the Pottsville marooners to get this fixed. Arizona Sports fans are withering mess.

I saw my Grandma chop a chickens head off when I was very young. It was gruesome and something I'll never forget

Keim was just acknowledging reality

also, FWIW -- in the past year prior to the last draft he has also said, numerous times on the radio, that GMs who dont solve the QB of the future challenge dont last long

the first step to solving a problem is acknowledging you have a problem on your hands

I suspect Mike B gives Keim a chance to solve the problem

or he is just saying if he doesn't perform, he wont have a job.

That's all I see here.

But will Mike B be open to Keim saying that part of the problem is the HC and is he willing to “solve” that problem

I think that the silence coming from Keim & Mikey B is deafening with regard to Wilks. And I believe that the decision to let him go has already been made. Leader of men or not, he has seriously embarrassed this franchise.

I think Wilks really cares. He tries, but I just don't think he has it. I mean, everyone made a big deal about his "born to stand out" comment during the offseason, yet not one article made mention that it's a Dr. Seuss quote and not an original thought.

A good GM doesn't wait 2-3 years too late to acknowledge a problem.
