For fun (and because it's a good comparison) stats on Schaub as a Falcons and what Kolb's done thus far:
EDIT: Why does ASFN hate copy/pasting preformated tables? I weep.

Not sold on Kolb yet to be happy giving anything more than a 4th for him. He has played like crap in half his games and is surrounded by some of the best playmakers in the NFL in a QB friendly offensive system.

I like Kolb, not first round pick like but I like him.

You're all missing the obvious on why Whiz wants him, he probably thinks he's the son of Jon Kolb, ex Steeler OL.

I like kolb as well and would give a 2nd and another pick but would rather see Cards draft Cam just for pure potential and excitement.

If we passed on Cam and he dominates in hte NFL id be really bitter.

Kolb is a good safe choice and id be happy unless Cam rips up the NFL.

The main reason kolb is a great idea is b/c he gives the cards a chance to win next year and would nearly guarentee the Cards the division. Cam/Gabbert/mallet could potentially get the Cards to the playoffs but no further for a couple years...

My thinking is that if the Cards drafted Cam and he blows up hed be the coolest QB. If he is awful then i cant really fault anyone for taking the chance because the potential is huge...I doubt Whiz will draft Cam unless he kills the combine and doesnt really have a choice...

Word is that Philly wants a 1st and 3rd for Kolb otherwise they will be content to keep both him and Vick. Not worth it.

That is just their rumored starting price. What ends up actually exchanging hands is always less.

Schaub was trade for two second rounders and a 1st round swap. He had even less body of work then Kolb has. Kolb has double the amount of attempts then Schaub did when he was traded.

Where Kolb was drafted has nothing to do with it.

Yeah but the first round swap between the Falcons and Texans was just to move up 2 spots (from 10th to 8th). If the Eagles and Cards swap 1st rounders, you are talking moving from somewhere in the 20's all the way to the #5 pick. I just don't see the Cardinals giving up a 2nd rounder and moving down 15-20 spots in the 1st round for Kolb.

If the Cards give up a 1st rounder, it won't be this years. No matther what Kob has done ,or what his potential is, it's not worth a top 5 pick. I could see maybe next year's #1 if the Cards really want him. Next year's #1 and this year's 3rd could be a possibility. I think that is too steep a price though. Of course then you have to factor in the "Cardinals luck" theory and if they give up next year's #1, Kolb gets hurt, they go 2-16 and then miss out on the oppurtunity to draft Luck  .
Seriously though, I think I would offer up next year's #1 but that would be about as steep a price as I would pay.

SIAP. If Vick doesn't sign with Eagles, is Kolb going anywhere?

Not talking about anything, Never said it was an option???

Only used it as a refrence to show that where a guy was drafted has nothing to do with what a team can get for him.

Don't we have Baltimore's pick in the third?

No, we obtained their third in last years draft (2010). IIRC this was the pick we used in the draft to move up in the second round to select Daryl Washington.

This year we only have one 3rd round pick, no 7th rd pick and two 6th round picks with the second of those coming from the Reggie Wells trade to Philly.

We had Baltimore's 3rd rounder in last years draft. We used that pick to move up 11 spots to get Daryl Washington. Gave the pick to the Patriots, Patriots then used our 2nd rounder 11 picks later to take Brandon Spikes who had a really good year and looks to be a cornerstone in the middle of their for some time to come.

Yep.

We used the the 4th rounder we got from Baltimore to get Rhodes.

We also gave the Jets this years 7th rd pick for Rhodes as well as the 4th you mention.

Man Spikes sure would look nice on this team although I am happy with D Wash of course. I wouldn't have drafted him in the 2nd however.

We need a vet ILB next to Washington like DQwell Jackson or David Harris. Hope this happens.

Hindsight is 20-20 of course. Would you rather have Spikes and what ever 3rd rounder we would have picked or just Washington. But that point may have been moot if the Patriots ended up just taking Spikes with their original pick we trade up for anyways thus leaving us without the ability to take Spikes and possibly Washington 11 picks later.

Very happy with Daryl Washington and wont be the least bit surprised if in the long run he is the better player than Spikes. Even though they don't really play the same LB position.
