Doesn't it seem like more players that are key to their teams success are going down this year?I know there are a ton of injuries every year but more "star" players are missing time. Here's a look(this is just off the top of my head,i'm sure there are more):
Cardinals-Boldin, Brown,Leinart, even Alan Branch was being counted on
Seahawks-Branch,Hackett,Strong
Niners-Smith, Davis, Lawson
Rams-Jackson, Pace, hell the entire team is hurt

Tampa-Williams, Alstott,Pittman
Carolina-Delhomme, Morgan
Saints-McCallister
Atlanta-Gandy,Vick(mentally disabled),Dunn is banged up.But they just stink

Bears-Berrian, Olson,Harris,Brown,and half the defense
Packers-RB situation has injuries but they may be the healthiest team
Vikings-Jackson,Taylor
Lions-Johnson,Jones

Dallas-Newman,Glenn
Redskins-Portis,Moss,Randle-el
Giants-Jacobs,Manning and Burress are both banged up
Eagles-the OL,Westbrook,Dawkins

Patriots-Maroney but they are also very healthy
Dolphins-Green,Thomas
Jets-Jones, Pennington
Bills-Losman

Steelers-Ward,Hampton,Polamalo,Holmes
Browns-Lewis
Bengals-Johnson,LB corp
Ravens-McNair,Ogden,Heap

Colts-Addai, Harrison,Sanders
Jax-nobody comes to mind
Texans-Johnson, Green
Titans-same as Jax

Broncos-Henry,Walker
Raiders-McCown,Jordan
Chiefs-Huard,Kennison
SD-this team lost their biggest player not to injury but stupidity-Marty Schottenheimer.

Humans are getting too big and too fast. 10 years from now football will disappear from the American scene as it becomes impossible to field a team for more than 4 games because everyone is injured by then.

In addition the field is too small for today's players. The field dimensions were laid out in the 19th century when linemen were 5'9" and 185lbs. The field needs to be at least 10-20 yards wider to accommodate modern athletes.

:D

One week ago I was thinking about how the Cards have seem to avoided the worst of it--

but at this point, while not in the St Louis Ram category, they have to me up there in terms of starter games lost to injury:

Ross (16), Okeafor (16), Boldin (2), A. Johnson (2), Brown, L (2+), Leinart (6+), E. Brown (1+?). Also, to go through right tackles like the team has really puts pressure on the o-line.

But it seems like you never see players on the really good teams injured. How come the injury bug never affects: Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Brett Favre (always gets some injury but always plays), Tony Romo, Brian Urlacher, LaDanian Tomlinson, Dwight Freeney, Vince Young, Ray Lewis (played with torn biceps-Okefor can't), Roy Williams (Cowboys), etc. These guys never miss games? I don't buy the argument that it's because the have such great offensive lines or better field surfaces or better doctors. When the Cardinal players get injured they seem to be significant causing them to miss complete seasons (i.e.-Leinart, Boldin-knee a few years ago, Vanden Bosch-twice with knee, Starks-knee, Rob Moore-knee, Fitzgerald-significant groin injury, etc.). It just seems odd that the above mentioned players are never on IR for the year. What gives?
