Free agent QB Kirk Cousins will have dinner with #Vikings coaches and other essential personnel tomorrow night, then visit the shiny new facility on Thursday, sources say.

I drive by the new, shiny training facility every day on my way to work now.

Unfortunately, (for we Cards fans) it is awesome.

NFL Network just announced Vikings are expected to sign Cousins to a 3 yr contract, fully guaranteed.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ins-likely-to-sign-with-vikings-on-3year-deal

Though the article they leave a little wiggle room for if he leaves. But it's likely, expected, etc.

A source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that the quarterback likely will sign a three-year offer from the Vikings that includes $86 million guaranteed. As expected, that tops the $27.5 million annually Jimmy Garoppolo earned from the 49ers.

The Cardinals and Jets also remain in the mix, but only if Cousins escapes Minnesota. While Gang Green boasts more cap space than any team league-wide, it's the Vikings who can dangle the prize of a Super Bowl-ready roster.

The Cards needed to break the bank to get Cousins. This is a disaster for us. We have signed NOONE . We have NO CHANCE of winning our division . McCarron is a awful ..awful .Back up plan!! Fitzgerald must be shaking his head . You have to have a QB in this league!!! Period! Football is the one sport where you lose all hope If you are 2-5 to start the season. I would have offered 33 million a year and guaranteed it! But thats because we have a chance to win division. With Cousins. Does anyone really think we will win 7 games with McCarron???? I mean that's insane . To the level of Lienart starting over Warner. I agree on Foles maybe not being the answer because of the cost to get him . This is sad. Because we will end up with garbage at QB and lose 11 games. All close games but still lose.

Well look who we won 8 games with. Though I do agree we don't know how to get ourselves a QB. In free agency or the draft.

I would never give any player a 100% guaranteed contract in the NFL. Good for Cousins but man you would think of all teams the Vikings would of stayed away from a contract like that, just look what injuries have done to there QBs over the past few years.

I'm not crazy about McCarron just think he is better than what is left out there. The Cards are in Plan C now.

I think part of the reason the Cardinals have signed no one is they go by the rules better than some of the other teams. And I thought the rule was you couldn’t sign anybody until tomorrow or make a contract with them yet, so I don’t get it.

Gotta go after Foles now. Problem is PHI has all the leverage now. I don’t see any other options. Unless ARZ signs McCarron & Glennon and hope the QB they take at #15 is ready in 2019. Maybe Larry decides to retire now that he sees he is not going to have a QB next year worth coming back for.

Yea What is even dumber . The one season we would go after Cousins we compete against an incompetent franchise in Minnesota . They are really good but already had a QB that won 13 games!! Lol .And they drop him and pay 84 million dollars to a guy who is 15% better!!! What are the odds??? I mean we get Cousins if Minnesota isnt in the picture . And they didn't need to go after him. I hope to God it bites them in the ass....I don't wish injuries but it would be ironic if he gets hurt 2 games in. I just hate our choices now!!!

What? You can make agreements with FA's right now, but just can't officially sign them until tomorrow. Has nothing to do with playing by the rules...Keim is just 10 steps slower than everyone else.

More like he's out playing golf while everyone else is running...maybe he waves to them as they pass him by.

Yeah, I'm not liking the odds of us acquiring Cousins at this point. We're in real trouble.

In terms of a backup plan, I'm torn on going with the unknown with potential in McCarron, or the injured-but-could-be-awesome-when-healthy Bradford. Where we stand now in the draft, I'm going to just assume we're not getting one of the top 4 QBs, and I'd turn my sights to Lamar Jackson. Even if he doesn't pan out as the QBotF, I think he could be a productive Slash player as a rookie, and try to work his way into form as a QB.

I think Cousins is a good QB but I don't think the Cardinals have misplayed this situation. They are in a bad spot and have to fix some previous mistakes(Logan Thomas) but as with the draft, there isn't a lot of separation between the QB's available. So, IMO, it's a lot smarter for the Cardinals to not overspend on someone just because they need a QB. Because I'd much rather see them allocate resources to the o-line and depth and have a good team in place for the new QB than to spend most of what they've got on just Cousins.

We don't really even know what the Cardinals want to do on offense or what they're going to resemble as a team. I say, pump the brakes. Too many new pieces to worry at this point.

Oh I see, misunderstood how it was supposed to be done. So they can unofficially officially sign someone. I get it now.

We never did have a chance of winning our division this year. New coach, new system, relatively low roster talent. Rams, and 49ers are probably the two best up and coming teams in the league right now.

At QB we are obviously screwed. We can trade a ridiculous amount to move up which we cannot afford considering our lack of good young players, and it only has 50% chance of working, or we do nothing and pray a 2nd tier qb surprises.

Our best chance is to go after Bridgewater hard and hope he makes a complete come back, but sadly I bet he goes to the jets, and we end up with Bradford.

Rumor is Bills want Bradford.
