Extremely irresponsible by Swann to reject interviews for KK. Completely unfair...especially when it's an interview for an NFL HC. Swann is a dummy for that one...

Well maybe KK's agent finally woke up. Checkmate.

Teams may not be able to talk to KK but I doubt his agent is off limits. I sincerely doubt he is in play for HC in NY so it is either HC here or OC somewhere else.

Get him signed up quickly and get Bowles in as DC before he gets snagged by BA

I’d bet money that BA has already talked to Bowles.
He might have, but TB is a 4-3 outfitted team, I hope Bowles is willing to change his scheme to match his personnel (I know, I know...a novel concept)...

Since Kingsbury is under contact, doesn't Swann have the right to deny him the ability to interview anywhere? Seriously, asking.

Yes...it's just never been done before, for a coach getting an NFL opportunity.

He does but he is supposedly the first college AD to ever do so.

When the NFL granted this clause to the NCAA I believe it was a gratuitous token offering. Maybe the NFL assumed a financial compensation exchange would be the ultimate outcome. We all know the NCAA sports world like their $$$$$$$.

He does, but it’s a PR nightmare for an AD who could ill-afford anymore bad PR

Isnt that why a contract has. A buyout? Nobody should be able to deny anybody the right to advance their career.
Even nfl allows it among coaches so long as it is a move up.

There is nothing stopping kingsbury from “ resigning” his position. Of course it would involve lawyers and buy outs and lawsuits but they can’t shackle KK to the bench.

As long as KK is employed by USC (and under contract), USC is in control.

KK can quit, and be free to pursue other deals.

If KK takes a new job, USC can't stop him.

USC could allege that the new employer induced KK into quitting by offering him a job prior to KK quiting. IF new employer did it by the book (i.e. requested permission, didnt contact KK or his agent prior ,etc) USC has nothing.
