Wonder if the arrogant prick will throw a hissy fit like he did when Kerr wanted him to add Thibodeau to the staff.
Adding the best defensive coach in the league wouldn't help if it isn't a priority with the Head Coach. 'Antoni (no 'D') has proved with two NBA teams now that it is not a priority.

Do you think he's getting the message that when the Knicks can him, his best move would be to return to coaching in Italy? I think he just might. Coaching in the NBA is over his head.

100% agree. You can higher all the "specialists" you want. D'Antoni's entire system is not conducive to good defense. His system depends on not fouling. His system depends on leaking out for fast breaks versus crashing the boards.

Lmfao @ D'Umbtoni........it has begun.
I called this 2 yrs ago.

We all knew it was a matter of time. I am actually surprised he lasted this long in the Eastern conference which is not known for fast breaks and no defense.

Probably because he knows that if he does his next gig will be back overseas in the Euro leagues.

I was positive that his ego would overide the logic centers of his brain.

Come on, Mike! Send some smarm at the media...

there hasn't been any pressure on him to perform and he got somewhat of an out with the injuries in the playoffs.

don't worry, next season you'll see full blown steam coming out of his ears Pringles on the sidelines next season.

he's lucky he is not forced to quit his job

don't worry, after next year's failure and the Knicks have the $ to sign either Howard or Paul to go with Amare and Melo, he'll be fired and Phil will probably come out of retirement to take over and probably start winning titles at a disgusting rate again.

That is an excellent prediction. After his massive successes in Chicago and L.A., it would complete Phil's cycle to return to where it all began as a 6'8" backup Forward on the Knicks.

He missed their whole '69-'70 championship season (his third season) with a back injury, but came off the bench regularly for the Knicks in succeeding years, including their only other championship in '72-'73.

Who knew, as we watched a gawky backup Forward at the Garden, that he would one day become the NBA's premiere Coach?

Jackson was traded to the Nets in 1978 for Micheal Ray Richardson, for his final two seasons. Two 1st round picks were also exchanged.

I'll bet he would love to end his coaching career back with the Knicks. Especially when he leads them to their first NBA championship in about forty years.

Keep track of your post so you can share it with us in a few years.
