if Doncic averages 27/7/7, he ends his career as one of the best players of all time with those numbers. Unless Ayton became a dominant defensive player with 20/11, passing on one of the best players ever will have always been the lesser choice. Besides the fact that Doncic at 20 is already averaging 29/9/9.
Cam will always have a spot in the NBA but it's like 9th bench guy
Jerome has a ton of talent and I have high hopes
If they're going to run that lineup they need to use the 2nd half version of it. Put Baynes on the outside, leave Ayton in the paint. Ayton's ability to rebound, to close and contest and his sheer length causes a lot of problems for teams, while Baynes has been really flat footed in the paint defensive, basically only trying to take charges.
They didn't play too well today. But they've outplayed a bunch of benches this season.Bench is trash
i've seen 16 year olds crash harder to the rim on pick and rolls. It's the easiest play in basketball to learn, especially for a big man who should be able to impose his will on people.
Ayton would be looking like a nice draft pick if Doncic wasn't an elite player that rarely comes around.
He deserves an opportunity to prove himself.
Not completely true. While I do believe that stats are inflated overall, I believe they are much more inflated for perimeter players than they are for big men who play mostly inside. Rules changes have been made over the past 20-30 years specifically to make life easier for perimeter players, not interior ones. Also him being an MVP candidate (even though he is only good on one end of the floor) is only comparing him to other players in the league now. It doesn't do much to help with comparing him to players of previous generations.right. he's totally not an MVP candidate already besides the numbers.
also, your stats argument undercuts a 20/11 Ayton impact as well.
He is a nice draft pick already. It's just so frustrating because he could be legendary
i don’t I have written off Jerome his lack of athleticism is to big of a hurdle to succeed.
i think cam can be better than a 9th man, but it is going to take awhile.

Monty said a conversation with James Jones helped push him towards playing DA at the 4 after Jones mentioned some of what DA does well that is very much like a 4. Monty had full support of the coaching staff when he came in with the proposal.

I believe Cerebral matters more than Athleticism at that position

Well we will see I guess but I can’t remember anyone unable to drive by his man succeed in the nba as a guard.

Andre Miller, but that was only because he had the strength to post up pretty much any other guard.

Sorta cursing it but I see Tony Parker
Well what do you know, we put some guys around him that can actually play and in turn we win a good amount of games when Booker play's well..Such a stat-padder

This frightens me. The more input James Jones has on playing rotations and strategy, the softer and more dependent on the 3 this team will be. James Jones should stick with what he does best (player relations) and leave the roster building, basketball decisions and game strategy to those who are better equipped to handle them.
