I wasnt arguing that her name and address wasnt a horrible thing to do, in fact if you look at the other thread, I posted the pics on one of the last pages and said I "found it very disheartining that I could find all her info so fast, and that there were some sick ****s out there"

I was commenting on Chaplins and Eric's posts from the first page.

Secondly, Kobe never lied, he held back info. While I personally think they are both horrible, they are very different in the court room Ryan.

I would like to see that study. Do you have a link?

It is on the first page of this thread in Card Trader's post.

Sure, if all things were fair and perfect, this would be handled differently. However, I have a feeling that if Kobe is found innocent of this, he'll probably wind up doing okay for himself.

I think that is wrong. He will be by an average man's stardard "doing alright" but he will never be held in regard, or get the same endorsement money he got before this.

Anyways, I have to go to some John Mayer concert with my girlfriend (this should be great.....) Ill rejoin the discussion when I get back later tonight

He lied on his wedding day...

On the other hand he's really honest about adultery...

Some of you are so messed up and backwords in what's right and wrong! I wish we could just go back to discussing the Suns because there are a few of you that bring down this boards collective IQ. Sad thing is you don't know it's you who I'm speaking of. With some of the opinions being carelessly thrown about on this subject, I'd say some of you are far more "unstable" than this 19 year old woman.

ummm...that is called lying!!!

Do you know why they tell you, "Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law"?

Prior to the charges being filed, Kobe Bryant asked us to think about what we know of him and to agree that he would never do “anything like that.” HE DIDN’T USE the words “rape” or “sexual assault” or any other qualifier, leaving us to conclude that he meant he wouldn’t have sex with a woman not his wife. Now when the charges are filed he is all of the sudden so sorry for cheating on his wife.

Get an f'ing clue dude!!!!

"Backward."

"Board's."

"Whom," or better, "of whom I am speaking."

"19-year-old."

Am I one of them? :D

I think Dan H agreed but I have to say that I don't believe it is equitable. If Kobe's info was made available he would have somebody change his email address and phone number and then post more guards at his gate and around his property along with having more body guards accompany him where ever he goes. And while the girl might also be able to change her email address and phone number, I seriously doubt she is in a position to have guards at her family's house and body guards when she goes out. Regardless of the outcome of this, she is always going to have to be looking over her shoulder and fearing for her safety.

You concluded (assumed) that he meant adultry, I don't understand how you can hold that against him. He was vague in his answer at worst. I would not call that lying.

They say "Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law" just for that reason. So you are aware not to say any more than you have to. That is why certain lawyers are good litigators, they know how to ask the right questions to get to the whole truth.

He insinuated that he had done NOTHING wrong. Like I said before, he had every opportunity to release a statement saying, "I committed adultery" prior to charges being filed but he never did that. If you were in his shoes, arrested, taken to the hospital for tests and had a two day window before the public even knew about this....wouldn't you have gotten the truth out as soon as possible to convey your innocence?

How about you try reading my post again Ryan.

Holding back the truth is NOT the same as lying. He never said "I never slept with this woman" he said "I am innocent of the charges"

They are very different IN THE COURT ROOM, like I said before. I also said while I personally think that both are wrong, they are still different.

Get an f'ing clue dude!!!!

You get a f'ing clue and realize that there is a technical difference, which is all that I stated.

No I wouldn't have. I would have waited until the DA had decided to press charges, since until then I didnt need to speak out. If charges were not going to be filed, why should I throw away my entire reputation?

I really don't have a problem with the girl's picture on the Internet. She isn't underage. I do think it's ridiculously irresponsible and unsafe to put her address and other personal information. There are just too many sick people out there. I mean we've seen how some of the Lakers fans who visit the site get. It is to say Brian in Mesa wouldn't fly up there and take care of Kobe's little problem. :)

No, seriously though, there really are a lot of sick people out there. I don't think it's fair to put her personal information on the Internet like that.

Joe Mama

Even better, CNN is reporting that the pictures arent her. So now some completely innocent bystander has to worry about having her info on the web.

This is why I hate humanity.

I was going to say something about that yesterday. Yesterday I was reading a thread on the ESPN Lakers board. Someone on the board posted that the girl in these pictures is not the real girl. Apparently the real girl's first name starts with a "C" not a "K". I saw a picture of the girl that is supposed to be the real accuser. In the picture she looks like she's about 15 or 16 years old.

I don't know Ryan. I don't think I need to get a clue, and I didn't assume that Kobe Bryant was saying he never committed adultery when he said we should know that he would never do something like that. I find he was talking about raping the girl. I figured if he wanted to deny sleeping whether he would have just said something like, "I did not... have sexual relations... with that girl (in an Arkansas accent)." :)

I agree totally. Bryant would look a lot better if he had played the minimalization game, basically telling all of us, "Yep, I slept with her, it was consensual. I've let ever down. I've committed adultery. She is lying about the supposed rape." But no, his comments weren't specific, and many still didn't even believe that he had slept wit her.

This is not a diss on you, Card Trader, but when I read the yoga comment, I thought he was setting you up. SO when you said, "NO, why do you ask?" that he was going to respond something like "Cause you hav your head so far up your ass you appear to be really good at Yoga" or something like that. Hilarious. Sorry.

Oh....ok.

My girlfriend's aunt practices that religion (kind of a mix between Hinduism and Christianity), so I'm familiar with it.

The point is that even accusing someone, especially a marketable someone whether they are guilty or far from it completely ruins their reputation and marketability.

This should be something that doesn't have a number like 50% attached to it...it should be almost ALWAYS the truth.

So yes, 50% of them ARE raped, Kobe "may" have raped this girl, if he didn't though, his reputation is already ruined and it was all the fault of a gold digging mental case crying rape. If it is proven that he did rape the girl.....send him to the cleaners. However I am pretty sure it is found that the situation of forcible sex was fabricated by the girl.

I am not saying he is guilty of Rape. He commited adultry and that is why he has a tarnished rap currenlty. IF he is convicted (by a jury) he deservise to loose all the money for his marketablity.
