I am not one to judge a person based on one mistake. Everyone deserves a second chance in my eyes. If indeed he sexually assaulted her, I will lose all respect for Kobe.

Stefan and I have been arguing his innocence. I think we all agree cheating is despicable.

Mistake, Mistake????
He knew what he was doing. You don't call have sex a mistake it is like saying it was a mistake you got pregnant. Come ON! If you do an act that takes more than a few seconds you can't call it a mistake. It was a poor decision, but it still was though out and you had the time to think about your consequences.

Well I can tell you it was a mistake for that girl to go to Kobe's room. But that doesn't make it her fault.

Here's the gist, basically:

Kobe Bryant is accused of sexual assault. As of right now, most of us can probably agree that the charge appears to be rape, or something very close to it.

Kobe Bryant has publicly denied the charges.

Kobe Bryant has publicly admitted to cheating on his wife.

That is it. We know nothing else about this case. What you, Freddie, and Stefan are basing your entire arguements on is Kobe's reputation with the media. Because that is basically what it is.

A month ago, would you have believed that Kobe would commit adultery? No, because of the perception you had gotten from the media. Today, he committed adultery and you deny he would have been guilty of sexual assault.

Your entire arguement is based on "Yes, but..."

The fact of the matter is we don't know if he is guilty of sexual assault. You may believe that he is innocent, but there is no concrete basis for that belief. In other words, it's an opinion without grounds.

As for the people that believe he is guilty, they also are just giving their opinion--of which the only grounds is the fact that he committed adultery--which in of itself does not provide a reason for rape. BUT, it certainly becomes something that puts a shred of doubt in some minds.

The DA obviously thinks he has enough evidence to pursue the case. What that evidence is, only he and people directly involved in the case know. Neither you, nor me, nor anyone else on this board has a single clue about the facts of this case.

I have been accused of calling Kobe a liar and thinking he is guilty of sexual assault.

Here's my opinion:

I didn't like Kobe as a basketball player, and now I think he is a scumbag, based solely on the FACT that he committed adultery. The FACT that there appears to be a possibility of Kobe Bryant committing rape is definitely on my mind, but I haven't convicted him yet, because the evidence hasn't be presented.

His judgement was a mistake. He cheated, he regrets it and he'll learn his lesson if he is not convicted. Maybe he'll come out of this a better person, having learned from his mistake.

A mistake? That's it?

A mistake is me misspelling a word on an interoffice memo. Or making a right turn where there is a sign saying no right turn.

Cheating on your wife isn't simply a "mistake".

Not only is my argument based on Kobe's rep, but the girl seems a little off the wall to myself. She had an overdose, she's a celebrity chaser, etc.

There is no proof she is a "celebrity chaser". She might have tried for American Idol, but does that make her a celebrity chaser? The overdose will probably hurt her, but do you have information on it? Was it popping pills to kill herself, or was it taking one too many sleeping pills on accident?

The point is you don't know. You don't know Kobe Bryant either, no matter how much you think you do. And again, this "rep" you refer to was spoonfed to you by the biased media. IMO, it's incredibly naive to put all your faith into it.

went on vacation after the fact you're using this against her? She went on vacation after accusing an NBA superstar of rape--and maybe emotionally wrecked as a result?
possibly may be an NBA groupie - "possibly" isn't proof
very aggressive towards celebrities proof? link?
emotionally unstable 19 years old and raped--you expect her to be stable?

Doesn't sound like she has a ton of credibility, either.

Good change from your post. That was bad! I heard on the internet that Freddie from the ASFN has had relations with a goat. Last month he played with a Biship in the White House while smoking weed. WE DON"T KNOW HER OR KOBE OR ANYONE ELSE!!!

Aggressive around celebs.

Do you think anyone who was just raped and emotionally distraught would go on a vacation?
To get away from the media circus? Especially someone with brothers and sisters, you think they would get any kind of peace? Of course they would try to get away for some time.

I think the press handled that part of the situation very badly.

I believe the girl and her family just needed some space, away from the small town and the media which was beginning to pour into the area. They wanted some peace and quiet before everything hit the fan.

The press, on the other hand treated it like the following:

Press: "You say that NBA star Kobe Bryant just raped you. What's next for you?"

Alleged victim:"I'm going to Disneyland!"

you know one of the things that i find most shocking about this is that people are bashing this poor girl. she didnt call the press to says that kobe raped her. she did what i would hope that any of of the wifes, girlfriends, daughters, or sisters would do if this happened to them. she went and got checked out by a docter and then called the police.

to attack this girl is so low that it should be be a crime. the girl hasnt said one thing to the media. but kobe will get chance to face her in a court of law and the true will come out. but to do something like posting this girls address, phone # and email address is down right shameful.

time will tell what the truth is but dont try this case before it has gone to court. and dont convit a person for telling the true.

 The girl's actions are consistent with those of a victim.

Not a media ***** (we don't know her name or even what she looks like).

A groupie (why would she claim he raped her if she was a groupie?)

And it's not like she has been proven to have done anything wrong, like Kobe has.
