It would be very interesting to see Bryant on the Suns.

Even more interesting is that he picked the Suns as one of the teams he wants to play for, considering its the Suns who always eliminates his Lakers.... obviously, the cliche "if you can't beat them... join them" philosophy.

The line-up would be incredible already.

PG: NASH
SG: BELL
SF: BRYANT
PF: DIAW
C: STOUDEMIRE

Will be over the cap, but the organization can raise the game tickets 1.5 times and still be full house every game. Merchandise not even included yet. So money wise it will offset the money the Suns would be losing by being over the cap.

Suns fans hate Bryant, but thats mainly because he bats for the other team. But if he becomes a Sun, everything will be forgiven.

ROTFL when I heard this.

It's not happening, and I'm happy it's not happening, but it does warm my heart to learn that Kobe is consumed by envy for the team that sent him home the last two years. :D

Heres a reason Kobe wont play here.. He will have to go back to #8 or pick another new number..

That is all, I have spoken.. Do not dare try to rebuttal this..

I don't think the numbers are "retired"...I think they did the ring of honor that way so Gugliotta could wear Chambers' 24.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Make no mistake, Bryant would be great in Phoenix. But given the makeup of the team (assuming Nash and Stoudemire stay), Garnett would help more. Is the price for Garnett higher than the price for Bryant? It shouldn't be. So figure out what the offer is for Bryant, offer that package to the Wolves instead, and get Garnett. (Yeah, yeah, the salaries aren't quite the same. Deal.)

Start with Nash, Stoudemire, and Bryant, and you still have questions about big man defense and who plays where in the starting lineup. Start with Nash, Stoudemire, and Garnett, and you could fill out the team with the members of this board and still win 55 games.

kobe on the suns is a horrible idea. I can't root for him.

Although this reminds me of something I said when I was about 5. I was at a Suns-Sixers game and realized that I hated charles barkley. I remember saying, for no particular reason, that if barkley went to the suns I would still hate him. Turns out he was traded to the suns and I didn't hate him.

I guess if kobe comes to the suns I will find out if I still have the mind of a 5 year old.

I seriously have listened to a couple of them.. But then again its hard to listen when you only post one every 4 months and then blame it on a cold..

If he had a cold for 4 months then he must have gone through almost as many tissues as Dave64.

There is one HUGE difference, kobe is forcing a trade, garnett is not.

I thought telling people that you will opt out WAS another way of forcing a trade? When you tell people you want out that is the same thing. The question really is does KG mean it?

"Publicly."

The Wolves are as likely to trade Garnett as the Lakers are to trade Bryant. (Which is to say, not very likely.)

I dont see why the Lakers' only excuse is "we cant trade them to a West coast contender"

ITS NOT LIKE THEY WILL BEAT US ANYWAY!

Lets see what the Lakers/Suns trade would look like....

Marion, Barbosa, #24 and #29 picks this year along with Atlantas 1st round pick next year for Kobe and Turiaf.

That gives the Suns a line-up like this:
Nash
Bell
Kobe
Diaw
Amare

Bench: KT, JR, Turiaf, Banks, Piatkowski, #59 pick. Pick-up Grant Hill.

Gives the Suns a very scary team to play against and a definite championship team.

Now, for the Lakers: Since they will be basically in rebuild mode, they could then do a trade with Boston (the rumored deal between the Suns and Celtics). Send Marion to Boston for #5 draft pick, West and Ratliff.

That gives the Lakers a line-up of this:
Barbosa
West
Evans
Odom
Bynum

Bench: Kwame, Radmonovic, Vujacic, Cook, Farmar, #5, #19, #24, #29, #40

They could even follow those 2 deals up with some other deals to get rid of Kwame and possibly Odom for total rebuild. Yes it gives them a young team, but they have Farmar, Barbosa, Bynum along with 5 draft picks this year and Atlanta's 1st round pick next year (to get OJ Mayo or one of the other young studs) to be a strong team in 3-4 years. Why wouldn't the Lakers want to deal with us. By that time, the Suns will be without Nash and start of decline. They know they can't get past us right now.

Wow, talk about 'best case scenario' for the Lakers... that is a steep hill to get all of that done.

One another advantage suns might have is closeness to la. That was important to kobe (because of his wife) during the 2004 free agency.

Hell, the suns should get leinart to tell kobe how well the la/phx situation has worked for him, we need to do everything we can to convince kobe to force a trade here and not chicageo...only way the lakers would possibly trade with us
